New Hampshire is the best taste of true freedom in the Northeast. My plan is to go north to the free state of NH. At least it is now.
Yes, without having to move outside New England. Hope to do it within a two-year period. Housing market is pretty bad as most know, but have not stopped looking.New Hampshire is the best taste of true freedom in the Northeast.

It may have a little extra internal gas volume, but it's main purpose is to provide extra clearance for different muzzle devices and sound suppressors.Blackfeather, what does the SEI gas plug do? Besides cost extra.
You & me both.Good read. Wish I could afford to purchase one.
Those look like two different FHs ??View attachment 44019
I did some trading earlier this month and now have a Scout in my collection after a 14 year hiatus... it came in the chassis stock and the only change that I have made so far has been installing a hooded gas lock front sight and a DC Vortex flash hider so I can use my Wind Talker suppressor on it.
Here it is pictured above my Socom length rifle, also equipped with a DC Vortex flash hider on an improved gas lock front sight base.

That's because there are two different FHs.Those look like two different FHs ??
Not those two. The two in the second picture of that post. That's because there are two different FHs.

Something is different on the back end.It looks like the SEI flash hider cuts 1.5 inches off the overall length. That's a nice feature.
18" barrel on top, 16.25" barrel on the bottom. Not those two. The two in the second picture of that post.
In that first pic you can see there is a difference between the two FHs on the ends where it attaches to barrel. Wonder if two different part #s ??18" barrel on top, 16.25" barrel on the bottom.
Both have a DC Vortex flash hider.
The 18" has a hooded gas lock front sight.

The 16.25" has dove-tail gas lock front sight base that is threaded for the DC Vortex.

Indeed there are two different part #s, one fits 18" & 22" barrels, the other is exclusive to the 16.25" barrel. In that first pic you can see there is a difference between the two FHs on the ends where it attaches to barrel. Wonder if two different part #s ??
Old school castle nut vs. threading directly onto the barrel. In that first pic you can see there is a difference between the two FHs on the ends where it attaches to barrel.
