Springfield Echelon disconnector getting stuck in the down position when gun cycles

CoThG

Alpha
When you cycle the slide and let off the trigger, it resets normally. When you pull the trigger again, there is an audible and tactile "pop" as the disconnector moves from being stuck in the bottom of the trigger bar groove up to its normal position.

Taking the slide off and manually pushing down on the disconnector, it disconnects the trigger from the sear like it should, but the disco gets stuck at the bottom of it's travel when you push down on the disco. Pulling the trigger will pop up the disco to its normal position.

The disconnect is supposed to stay disconnected until the trigger and slide cycle to reset it. Also you might be confusing the safety lever you can push that down and it feels limp with no spring pressure to push it back up. If you look directly down on the sear area thats the inner lever. It can stay down since part of the trigger pull stages it (see below).

With the slide off if you look at the side of the grip the disconnect is part of the trigger bar.
(With the take down lever in locked position as if the slide was on)
1. When you move the trigger back and forth you will notice that the disconnect moves with the trigger.
2. As you pull the trigger most of the way back the back end of the disconnect hump first hits the safety lever nub (bottom nub) and starts to rotate it up if the safety lever is all the way in the down position (If the slide was present the safety lever would start to push up on the drop safety moving it out of the way so the striker can be released)
3. Then the trigger bar/disconnect now hits the top nub for the sear and the safety nub rotating them disengaging the drop safety in the slide at the same time releasing the striker.
4. As the slide would cycle back the trigger bar/disconnect is pushed down by the slide (1st audible click)
5. The trigger bar gets locked down under the top nub (sear)
The disconnect will not be released by the sear until you release the trigger.
6. As the trigger goes forward the trigger bar/disconnect slides forward out from under the sear nub (2nd audible click)
The process starts over

If you do not rotate the disassembly lever to locked position the pistol acts differently which is normal since you do not pull the trigger to release the slide. The disassembly lever releases the slide so the slide can come off without dry firing.

With the slide off and disassembly lever in unlocked position
You pull the trigger the disconnect moves back if you push it down it slips under the sear nub with a sluggish movement with barely an audible click. Again the disconnect will stay locked under the sear nub until you release the trigger.

Thank you for your detailed response. As you're looking down on the frame, the component that is sticking is the rightmost component, which I think is the disconnector. It will disconnect the trigger when manually pushed down, but the problem is it stays in the down position after the trigger is released, not just to the reset point, but fully. The subsequent full trigger pull will have a distinct catch in the initial pull followed by a click as the disconnector fully extends, then the rest of the trigger pull goes normally. I thought the disconnector was supposed to reset itself after the slide cycles and the trigger is released. My problem is the disco is sticking in the frame and not resetting until you do a full trigger pull.

call S/A monday morning, they may want you to ship it back to them.

a video from you, and maybe clear pictures of what you are describing would give us a better idea.

a video from xdman, or clear pictures would have helped as well

just sayin'....
