Springfield Saint Victor AR10 .308 Grouping Issues

Did you use a proper bench rest ? Sled ?
At 100 yards, shooter error on the trigger, or technique can be pretty magnified.
Has anyone else shot the firearm to confirm?
I can let my dad or cousin shoot it this weekend to see if there's any difference. I also sighted in my 6.5 creedmoor bolt action rifle today and all the grouped within an inch and I didn't have any flyers. 2 shots grouped side by side. One adjustment and bullseye. But maybe since the trigger on the AR is probably at least 2 lbs heavier than any of my other bolted rifles I'll let someone else shoot it to see to make sure.

So, the OP is sighting in the rifle and has to adjust the shots into the bull at 100 vs the original 25 all which is normal SOP. There's a thng called a trajectory that's a factor to adjust for because of the distance variations, plus shooting conditions & procedures.

But now is going to contact SA if the rifle is defective?

Trust me I understand. I have a 30-06, a 308 bolt action, Creedmoor, 270 and a 556 AR that I have sighted in myself for years and all are 1 MOA. The only reason I'm considering contacting SA is because I took the scope I'm using off of my bolt action 308 and put it onto my 308 AR and I've never experienced this much variance with any of my other guns. I've made sure all scope and mount screws were to torque spec and I'm still seeing some "interesting" grouping. As @KillerFord1977 suggested I will let someone else shoot it this week and look at everything but if we get the same results I plan to start the conversation with SA to see what they suggest. I'm not saying that the rifle is defective, I'm just trying to figure out what's causing the results that are so different from all of my other rifles. I appreciate the feedback 🙏🏾

@jcousar15 i have a thought… do you normally shoot AR’s? Could it be that shooting a rifle with a pistol grip affects your accuracy compared to a traditional stock of your bolt guns? I only bring this up because i have a mini-14 (keep your comments civil 😁) and a Ruger AR556 both topped off with a TRS25 red dot. Shooting offhand at 25 yards i actually shoot the mini-14 better. I saw the same thing with my Maverick 88. I put a pistol grip stock on it (to be one of the cool kids) but quickly realized i shoot it better with the traditional stock. May be something with the pistol grip? Who knows… That’s just my thoughts.
I’ll be interested to see the results with your rifle in someone else’s hands.

Very interesting! That's something to consider. I put the Magpul Hunter stocks on both my 6.5 and .308 rifles which has more of a pistol style grip. I have the Saint Victor in 556 as well and I'm pretty proficient with it. Trust me the last thing I want to do is send my new beauty of to SA. I was very excited to get it and with the growing wild hog infestation on our hunting land I want to put her to work in the next week or two. Just need to figure out what's going on so I can put her to good use. I'll keep you all posted on how things go in someone else's hands. I would rather it be me on a learning curve to the AR with a larger caliber than a bigger issue. I appreciate all of the feedback
