Stimulus Check

I hope I don’t sound like a bleeding heart. I’ve already received the stimulus deposit in my bank account. I donated a small portion of it to the local food pantry and I hope others on this forum would consider doing the same. During these trying times food pantries are helping to feed a lot of families that normally wouldn’t need it.

You can spend the rest of that money on ammo or other life’s necessities. :)

That doesn't sound like being a bleeding heart. Also that wouldn't be bad in this case. Quite a few of us on here are doing just fine through all the crazy the last year and I hope we all do what you did and help out the people who got hit hard. I'll donate some and spend the rest at small businesses.

Good man @Oaktree45 . One thing people need to understand and gain IMHO through this pandemic is the sense of humanity. So much of our media is drawn towards the drama and politics, when in the end people are what is important.

Spending some of that is the general concept to keep liquidity in the market. Whether or not to put that to Ammo at inflated prices..probably not!

I've never received any government checks and don't have the luxury I guess? Good for those who can and I think it's a waist, because they will get it out of us somehow and sometime! I could use it for sure, but not in my cards!

Wahoo, the IRS sent my stimulus payment to a bank account I've never seen before. I guess I'll have to wait a while to spread that cash around.

There's a ton of scams going on where d-bags overseas are setting up bank accounts in victims names whom they get their personal info from using data breeches and such to divert taxes and unemployment claims and such. Pretty scary stuff because Uncle Sam wants his piece in the end and it could take months getting things fixed if this happens to you with the IRS knocking at your door.

Well, from what I read, the stimulus checks will not be counted as income for recipients for the tax season. But I'm guessing at some point, they'll eventually get their part of it. I didn't get either check, so maybe that means I can take it off as a contribution or a loss or something . Yeah, I don't think so 🤬

Edit: Here an article answering some question on the recent Stimulus checks:

The $600 is the money you already paid in taxes coming back. It’s not stimulus. It’s a refund from your taxed income already
