Summer Vacation

No vacation, as in going out of state, this coming summer. Normally, we go to Florida and take the grandkids, but staying home this time. The 13 yr old grandson and I should be able to get in more range time, and get the kayaks on the water more often for some fishing. :)
I love kayaking!

Sometimes I'll go down river for 3-4hrs at a time it's very relaxing.

That's pretty cool you're able to get your grandson involved in shooting!

The MT governor just instated a mandatory 14-day self quarantine for any MT resident or a non-resident coming into the state, from being out-of-state, for non-work related reasons.

So plan your vacation time in/to MT accordingly and bring enough $$.

I've already requested and had my vacation weeks approved in the first week of the year. I may go to Bar Harbor this year or Nova Scotia after my time in the Mtn's. I've never been to either place but they both are within driving distance and ferry. All these places I mentioned aren't too expensive to visit.
I am from Northern Maine originally. - Aroostook county.
Bar Harbor is fantastic, but Nova Scotia has more to see and do. .. maybe hit them both .

Thanks for the suggestion!

I haven't been to either before. I have two weeks already scheduled off in the summer so I'll most likely do both.

Acadia Nat Park is beautiful. A must see for those living in New England or elsewhere

I heard that about Acadia. I'll most likely make a day trip there this summer. I'm pretty sure you need a special permit to carry a gun in Maines state parks though.

We live about 100 miles from Mammoth Cave Nat'l Park, and they have a nice trail system to walk. I need to get online and see if they're even open for business. Additionally, licensed concealed carry folks can legally carry in Nat'l / State parks in Kentucky....unless posted otherwise. 🙄

Okay, just checked the NPS site, and each national park is handling their own visiting stipulations it seems. Mammoth Cave vistor center, campgrounds, cave tours, and other "indoor" tourist facilities (stores, snack bars, etc) are closed, but the trails are still open! 👍
