Well, just put my first and last name on SS account. Put my middle name as well on the ATF account. Hope that doesn’t mess anything up. Everything else is the same.
My LGS was predicting that E-Form form 4's we're going to take way longer than the 90 days the ATF has stated and be more like 6 months plus for approval so the paper route may be ready the same time as the new E-Form approval.Atleast you guys have that option. I bought mine and filed 3 weeks before the ATF announced the Efile system, so i'm stuck with this long ass paper submission. i'm 3 months in since purchase, 2 months since the ATF cashed the check. This blows lol.
I have two custom made holsters from Tucker GunLeather and I won’t purchase another, no matter what I do I can’t get them to relax enough for me draw the gun. Retention is one thing but a smooth clean draw is another.
That's interesting. I hope I don't run into that same issue, although im not sure which ones you have. I ordered a Deep Carry 1 which is entirely adjustable/customizable and can be converted from IWB to OWB. Guess we are going to find out... in 5 more months.I have two custom made holsters from Tucker GunLeather and I won’t purchase another, no matter what I do I can’t get them to relax enough for me draw the gun. Did you get this yet? Do you have your suppressor or muzzle device on it? Seems to me this WOULD be the perfect length and it looks good. If you do have it, can you post a picture with it on? 6.7” seems right to me. It’s an odd size and there’s only one other place I’ve found with that size hand guard. I like this one better. I think the 7” would be just a little too long. Look forward to hear what you think.I ended up purchasing an SLR 6.7" hand guard for for my 5.56 pistol. I have been assured that it will be a perfect fit. You can find the handguard here...https://slrrifleworks.com/ion-6-7-ultra-lite-mlok-handguard/
Man, that looks pretty darned good!! Thanks for the link and the update!!Just put it on today. I don't have the suppressor yet. But you can see the clearance now. The original compensator is still on there as well.
Did you do this yourself or did you take it to a gunsmith? I looked at the gas block on my Victor pistol and it looks like the block is pinned to the barrel. No screws. Wondering how you got the gas block off the barrel.Just put it on today. I don't have the suppressor yet. But you can see the clearance now. The original compensator is still on there as well.
You can use a 5/64 roll punch to push out the gas block pin. If your trying to remove it.Did you do this yourself or did you take it to a gunsmith? Yes. I did it myself. It was all of about 10 minutes to install. The gas block does not have to be removed. The new free floating hand guard comes with what I call shims. They are specific to the "front" and "back" part of the barrel assembly. Once tightened, they hold the hand guard right to the barrel. It also comes with what they call an anit-rotation piece which sits at the top of the hand guard before tightening anything. It all went together without any issues. The barrel nut that it comes with is not even necessary.Did you do this yourself or did you take it to a gunsmith? I may just have my LGS do it when I get the handguard. Looks to me like there’s a pin going through the entire gas block side to side and another pin on the bottom. I’m used to seeing the gas block screwed on…You can use a 5/64 roll punch to push out the gas block pin. If your trying to remove it.
Real Avid makes a nice bench block that supports the gas block while it's punched.
Thanks. I’m looking at a different handguard and it appears that the barrel nut needs to be removed to install their barrel nut.Yes. I did it myself. It was all of about 10 minutes to install. Is there a pin on the bottom or set screw?I may just have my LGS do it when I get the handguard. Looks to me like there’s a pin going through the entire gas block side to side and another pin on the bottom. I’m used to seeing the gas block screwed on…
Looks like a pin that has been milled down to be even with the block. I couldn't see a slot or opening for any kind of tool to unscrew it. I'm sure XDman has seen the gas block on this. Maybe he'll read this and chime in...Is there a pin on the bottom or set screw?
If you don't feel comfortable removing it you can't go wrong having your LGS take care of it if they are setup to install upgrades.
SS is waiting to get the doc to your LGS for ready to certify.OK, here's where I sit in the process now. I'm a little concerned about my LGS being up on this whole "efile" thing. So, I want to make sure things progress as they should.
I did the docu-sign thing. My current status shows this - "Current Stage: Form 4 (Single Shot): Customer Signatures Complete - Awaiting Form 3 Approval". And my timeline shows the next step is "Ready to Certify" in white, not green.
Is the certification waiting for my dealer to certify, or is there something I need to do? Will I get an email to go certify with my dealer? I'm just a little weary that SS will send my dealer an email and they'll just sit on it since last I talked to them, they said they really weren't set up for all this.
My plan is, when it's the appropriate time, I'll go over there and see if I can't get them to get set up and be their guinea pig. But I don't want to go over there and push it before its time.
