The MP5: Full Auto vs Binary Trigger vs Semi-Auto

Here's my set-up.

@BET7 also has a couple Scorpions in different configurations.

Upgrades include the HB industries trigger kit, Magpul duckbill mag release, HB industries safety delete kit for the right side, SB brace, Burris RT-1, and Rugged Obsidian 9 suppressor.

I've been contemplating SBR'ing this but I'm waiting to see the brace ruling and if they will wave the tax stamp first.

I don’t think there’s any way they wave the tax stamp. They don’t have to. Pay up or else. Since when did BATFE become a humanitarian organization? Hopefully I’m wrong, but I don’t think so.

There's talk of waiving the tax stamp during a grace period if the brace ruling becomes law.

I'll wait and see because at this point I have nothing to lose except possibly $200 🤪

I could have gotten a H & K factory conversation, but ended up getting this instead about 1985. I started out with a registered bolt from Group Industies. The bolt cost me $200 plus the stamp fee. Later I bought an IMI Model B Uzi and sent it and the bolt to a company in Conn called Billistics that completed the conversion. Rock Island auction company sold a Billistics conversion for 20 grand back in May. My boys can't wait to sell this when I'm gone.

Moosh-Lahm!

This was my gift to myself. After I was diagnosed with cancer in 2012 and now 10 years cancer free. H&K SP-5 made into an SBR (all paperwork done by a computer literate friend). I always wanted one if and when they became available that and I guess watching John Mclane fight the terrorists at Nakatomi had an impact...

That's my favorite configuration of the MP5.

Classic styling and sexy as hell!

I'm late to the party, both in posting in this thread, as well as getting into the MP5 game. I bought all models of Saint Victor AR pistols, and an Edge Evac. I love those Saints and they have been my pride and joy for the few years since I bought them. The Evac and PDW were my last, and they remain my favorite ARs.

BUT... after 32 years of wanting an MP5, I stumbled on an SP5K last summer. First MP5 variant I've ever seen, so I took the $2699 plunge (used gen 1 K model). Soon after, I spied an MP5-22 and then an MP5SD-22. And then finally, the piece de resistance... an NIB SP5. So in the space 3 months I went from never having even seen an HK or clone, to owning four real HKs. And they are MAGNIFICENT! I've had them to the range three times and shot 500-1000 rds through each. I must've earned some bad karma for being such a glutton, because I had my first (and only) AD in 50 years of shooting just 2 weeks into having the K model. I managed to poke a 9mm-wide hole directly in the center of my 65" TV. So off I went (lesson learned!!!) and bought a 75" TV. Anyways, where I used to have my Saint Victor PDW within arm's reach at all times, and that one and the Evac in the car for travel... it's all been replaced with the 2 SPs.

I still love my Saints, and they're not going anywhere. But the HKs are just another level of cool and all have been flawless and sheer pleasure to shoot. I'm a proud Springfield Armory owner (M1 Garand, M1A Standard, Stainless Loaded 1911, and Range Officer with checkered frontstrap, and the Saint AR pistols. But I'm now an even prouder HK owner. Once you fire one of these you get what allbthe hoopla is about.

P.S. I was taking pics of some of my fun toys, so please forgive the clutter of the large family of scary black guns. I should have left the handguns out of the pic.

It looks like the ATF brace rule just hit and it includes a 120 day amnesty period for a tax free registration of any firearms with a brace that are now classified as an SBR under this rule.

Thanks for the heads up. I actually just got digital fingerprints done this morning.
