Me too, but still shouldn't have to register something deemed legal until now. This is just another way to futher control the guns and make a fortune from the stamps of future buyers.

I 100% agree!

I'm sure the next political move is to increase the cost of the tax stamp for inflation from when the NFA was introduced.

Sad part is they say this is for the good of the community and they passed this cause their concerns for citizens safety. which we all know that is a crock of crap. they don't give a flip about the general population. it's all a money and power grab.

No, I have two I was going to SBR but now I’ll wait for the rule to come into effect and do them for free.

Even if this rule gets overturned you'll at least get some free tax stamps out of it.

That should be the case considering they are now classifying braced firearms as SBR's

Once you get a stamp as an SBR you can just about do whatever you like with it. Swap barrel lengths, switch out stocks and braces at your leisure and add a vertical foregrip.

Same here. I have no use for a pistol brace.

It's more than a little ridiculous to think that $200 and the same type of background check I have to go through to renew my Hazmat license magically makes me responsible enough to put whatever length barrel or brace or stock or suppressor or whatever I want on my AR, yet without those 2 things I am somehow increasing gun crime. It's a money grab pure and simple.

Dubious constitutionality as well, guns are not privilege in the United States, but a protected right. And you are not allowed to tax rights.

If you do stamp your SP5, etc…

You’ll need to bring it into 922r compliance if it was imported.

Commodities aren't rights, non prepared groceries aren't taxed because they're necessities.

Your right to rubbers and tampons aren't in the constitution.

You’ll need to bring it into 922r compliance if it was imported.

Fortunately the Scorpion is easy to bring to 922r compliance with a pretty decent aftermarket of American made products.

My Scorpion is pretty much, unintentionally compliant already, though not fully as I still need to replace 1 additional part which would reclassify my Scorpion as an SBR.
