Did you register an SBR because of the rule? Thanks for the heads up. I actually just got digital fingerprints done this morning.
Me too, but still shouldn't have to register something deemed legal until now. This is just another way to futher control the guns and make a fortune from the stamps of future buyers.I'm already in the system for other NFA items.
I 100% agree!Me too, but still shouldn't have to register something deemed legal until now. This is just another way to futher control the guns and make a fortune from the stamps of future buyers.
No, I have two I was going to SBR but now I’ll wait for the rule to come into effect and do them for free.Did you register an SBR because of the rule?
I'm already in the system for other NFA items.
Not a bad way to go!No, I have two I was going to SBR but now I’ll wait for the rule to come into effect and do them for free.
That should be the case considering they are now classifying braced firearms as SBR'sI'm not up on the SBR stuff, if you get a stamp for the pistol brace, can you put a regular stock on it since it's registered as an SBR?
Once you get a stamp as an SBR you can just about do whatever you like with it. Swap barrel lengths, switch out stocks and braces at your leisure and add a vertical foregrip.I'm not up on the SBR stuff, if you get a stamp for the pistol brace, can you put a regular stock on it since it's registered as an SBR?
Yes but $700 adjusted for inflation was still $2500.Got my MP5 in the early 80's, you could buy one for 700 bucks back then.
Same here. I have no use for a pistol brace.I have no dog in the fight but this flip flopping is nuts.
Dubious constitutionality as well, guns are not privilege in the United States, but a protected right. And you are not allowed to tax rights.Same here. I have no use for a pistol brace.
It's more than a little ridiculous to think that $200 and the same type of background check I have to go through to renew my Hazmat license magically makes me responsible enough to put whatever length barrel or brace or stock or suppressor or whatever I want on my AR, yet without those 2 things I am somehow increasing gun crime. It's a money grab pure and simple.
If you do stamp your SP5, etc…I'm not up on the SBR stuff, if you get a stamp for the pistol brace, can you put a regular stock on it since it's registered as an SBR?
Folks **** and moan about taxes.Dubious constitutionality as well, guns are not privilege in the United States, but a protected right. And you are not allowed to tax rights.
Effectviely only the rich and privileged have full access to their second amendment rights beyond market forces.
Funny how a poll tax is unconstitutional but tax stamp on a short rifle is for the moment acceptable.
Commodities aren't rights, non prepared groceries aren't taxed because they're necessities.Folks **** and moan about taxes.
Everything in the USA is taxed. Everything except food stamps, eggs and milk.
Cars, tvs, phones, glasses, pencils, tampons and rubbers… but no one ever bitches.
I dont ever get the tax argument .. that ship sailed hundreds of years ago
Fortunately the Scorpion is easy to bring to 922r compliance with a pretty decent aftermarket of American made products. If you do stamp your SP5, etc…
You’ll need to bring it into 922r compliance if it was imported.
