The Plunge

So do i, i prefer the new furniture. but in a total of 30 minutes that colt could have all new furniture like the newer ones. A2 sight would be the only drawback. That Carbine i posted has none of the original stuff on it. i still have the original stocks and could put it back in no time. the only thing that can't be changed is the A2 sight and carry handle. but if you ain't wanting an optic then those sights are just as good as those high dollar magpul sights. and for me, i don't want an electronic sight on a rifle to use for the apocalypse.
Understood.

The 1:12 twist rate and the fact they don’t allow for optimal use of optics make them pointless for me. Somehow I doubt our Belle would benefit from the subtle differences as much as she will over the advantages offered by the rifle she chose. And speaking of that, the rifle she chose came ready out of the box with upgrades most of us had to pay extra for after the fact when we bought our first AR-15.

Mine serves as an example of a Colt AR built before the company changed hands. When this rifle was built the Firearm Division was under the unbrella of Colt Industries. In 1989 the Firearm Division was sold and the new company changed the name to Colt's Manufacturing Company. Since then several investment companies have owned Colt. So in my collection I've had several ARs that reflect this continuum of ownership. But the great thing about the world of firearms is that one size doesn't fit all. Firearms evolve with the times. Older guns will always have an appeal for a whole host of reasons which none of us really have to explain unless maybe Joe gets re-elected.

I’ve been able to give it and take it for decades 😉☺️
