IMO, the take-home message is don't count on LE to get you out of a jam.

Especially, if you live in a rural area where response times are lengthy.

Very few burglaries and crime in general where I live. Everyone out here is armed, are hunters and most are prior military. Not to say crime can't happen but it is a very high-risk area for perpetrators.

Definitely sad stuff especially considering there was a possibility to reduce the total amount of fatal casualties.

Very sad indeed my friend, brought tears to my eyes a few times.
Very sad that the 4 officers on scene within about 4 minutes didn’t just go in and end this tragic event. I refuse to speculate on whether the lives lost could have been different but most likely so.

IMO, with the hordes swarming across the southern border & being distributed across the country, plus the drug crime & economic conditions, crime rates are only going to go up.

Tough times are ahead, and tougher for those in/near the urban areas.

i don't believe i criticized anyone commenting on the "cowards".

i felt the same way.

one thing i'll always remember is what was said, by many others in time of disaster....

"heros like police, fire, soldiers, go in, while others run out". (i think i had to paraphrase that)

No,It was not your comment.It was suggested that I had never been in the situation.So I didn't know what I was talking about.Not to go into detail,but that person knows nothing about me.what Ive done or where Ive been.So It sort of amazed me that someone would have a knee jerk reaction to my comment.Without knowing my history. The police response was a failure on so many levels. The so called Chief is trying to deflect any blame. I cannot comprehend how as the Chief he did not think he was the incident commander. As a retired officer I am ashamed that Arredondo claims to be a police officer.

Let’s clarify some things………

He is the SCHOOL police Chief…….

He is currently on administrative leave, getting paid to do nothing which he does very well anyway.

On Saturday there’s a good chance he will be fired.

Can’t come soon enough.

He should NEVER BE ALLOWED TO WORK IN LAW ENFORCEMENT AGAIN!!!!
