Time to take a break.

About the same temp here in western PA and still snow covered. It's not so much the low temps as it is the wind always blowing on my back especially while sitting down reloading my mags. Anyway, the heated vest wraps up around my neck. I keep the back of my neck warm and everything else is fine for 1-2 hours. I stayed home last week since the mornings were starting anywhere from -17° to 0°, all with a stiff wind.

I bought a bigger battery that I use for those cold early morning hunting days sitting in my deerstand for hours. It seems like most mornings this year were low single digit or mid teens. Since I am getting up there a little in age now it's harder to stay as warm as I could when I was younger. The vest did me good the last 2 hunting seasons ... and at the range.
I was just messin with ya Papa.

Maybe indefinitely. Evidently it is okay to put down conservatives seven ways to Sunday, but don't even think you can disparage the left without being censored. Thanks everyone for the time I have enjoyed here, especially those that I don't agree with.
While I just finished reading this thread unfortunately I don’t get on the forum as much as I used to and I have to admit I didn’t see the thread your referring to, that being said I hope you reconsider and stick around as I’ve always thought you were a great guy.
If your mind is made up I’m wishing you the best.

Yea, definitely stay, I swore I would leave here several times, but as you see I’m still around, from one member to another, take a break for several days and really think it over, that’s what I did, there are lots of great people here, you definitely will be missed if you leave, if you do decide to leave, you take care and best wishes sir!

Not real funny to me dude. My dad is in full dementia right now and my mother’s heart gets broken every day because of it.

Besides, it was simply oversight on my part. 😉
i am much older than you..i have lost friends, and relatives to dementia, and alzheimers, back in my dad's day, it was called, Hardening of the arteries, as they had no idea what was going on (the medical field) and called it hardening of the arteries....and that killed my dad as well........no it is not funny, at all, i understand.....and no direct insult to you or family was inferred.

but many times, when i/we watch tv or a movie someone asks the other person if he/she must be going that way, due to what they were currently doing.

its a sad day when someone we love or are great friends with, comes down with ANY disease, and i just will not walk on egg shells anymore than i really don't believe i have to, cuz if that's the way it has to be, then maybe the "word censor" here should delete that word (or words) like a few that automatically get deleted from time to time.

again, sorry for your situation.

Oh how I can relate! My 94 year old mom has been in assisted living for most of the past year. Her dementia has progressed to the point that it is now necessary to move her to the memory care unit. There is little in life that is worse than the reality of watching a loved one’s mind slowly fade away.
