UPDATE: Liberty Safe Betrayal? Company Owned By Firm That Donates to Anti-Gun Candidates

Explains a lot. It’s one thing to sell out to a conglomerate like ben and jerry did, but sell out to a venture capital firm? We all thought this was some little mom & pop operation with a file cabinet records keeping system.

Dispels any prior thought that Liberty didn’t bother first consult their lawyers about releasing that code and probably they did so promptly to avoid more scrutiny.

Again, this sort of request procedure is done in writing and take limited amount of time time before other measures are taken. If Liberty wanted to clarify the issue on their behalf, they would have and can release that communication. I don’t think they will and there’s no non disclosure for this either.
 
My LGS also is a Liberty dealer. Lucky them, they have ponied up the exorbitant fee to have a booth at the State Fair!

When I asked one of the guys there if Liberty had agreed to cover a portion of their expenses, he told me that a rep was there to answer questions regarding this. Essentially, it came down to "they had a warrant to search that residence" so Liberty decided to appease the government or face the consequences (it may, or may not, have been explained to Liberty by the government that way).

Nevertheless, Liberty Safes, you are Bud Light to me. Sorry about your poor choices.

I was actually looking at a bigger Liberty just last week (I already own one) but decided to wait. Glad I did now. I won't be buying another from them now that I know who they are. It never occurred to me that a gun safe maker would be a commie piece of :poop:. I guess I'll be renewing my membership with Mammoth Nation?

I agree with the commentary about the Liberty company on here, But, my initial thought was 'Betrayal'? My loved ones and friends could betray me sure, but not some company, I do not personally give companies the level of trust that could result in betrayal. At the end of the day just about every company on the planet is going to take the path of money vs people (this time it backfired); thus a company doing stupid stuff like this comes as no surprise. Jeezus I am Jaded!
