There was a mid-air collision between a commercial airliner and a Sikorsky H-60 Black Hawk helicopter Wednesday night over the Capital Region.

“A PSA Airlines Bombardier CRJ700 regional jet collided in midair with a Sikorsky H-60 helicopter while on approach to Runway 33 at Reagan Washington National Airport around 9 p.m. local time, the FAA said in a statement. “PSA was operating as Flight 5342 for American Airlines. It departed from Wichita, Kansas.”

Note: The article indicates that apparently the UH-60 didn't have its ADSB transponder turned on.

What a terrible tragedy. I read that members of the U.S. Figure Skating team were on board. I have not heard yet of any survivors being rescued.
I was watching the special reports on this last night and it was reported that 4 people had been pulled from the Potomac alive but with water temperatures in the low 30’s it’s not going to end well.
Sad situation.

Edit update..,,..
They are now saying no survivors. 😞

The president was on talking about this tragedy, I am glad he is more transparent then the previous administration, but his babbling about other stuff when he should just be focusing on this gets old, just me I guess.
No, not just you. I saw him drifting off script, but I'm sure glad he was there.

He can at least find the podium without having to be led to it.
