&*#@*!!%&@@ WALMART...!!

All the stores around here are doing it, nobody wants to work but they know where to go to collect! When I go to Walmart it's only to purchase my favorite apples,"Cosmic" apples. No-one else here has them. After looking at most of the Walmart employees I rather go to the self checkout--the machine is smarter! Our Walmart has been re-modeled and it now has 40 checkouts, 35 are self checkouts.

We shop at Walmart quite a bit. I like their (mostly) lower prices. I know they cannot pay $15 an hour (minimum) for cashiers and still keep prices down. I prefer self checkout because I am in charge of how long it takes a and just about always in a hurry. All any of us really have is our time and I don’t want to waste mind standing in checkout lines.

I’m a vendor to Kroger in my area.
The store mgrs have told us they cant get or keep people to work. Even with competitive and/or top pay for hourly wages. Folks dont apply and those that do, usually quit because its “too much work” .
Some days their staff on hand is at only 50-60%
Kroger is the worst for self checkout. I haven’t shopped there for years. They led they way in shite service long before Covid. If I get directed to a self service station I tell them I already have a job. Give me 10% off or go take a flying ..,

So where do you get groceries now?

I get them from Albertsons. I shop online and go and pick my groceries up. They bring them out to your car.
The wife does that at WalMart. And if she needs me to stop and get her soda ( the only place that carries it is one specific WalMart near my work) she definitely does an online order, because going into a WalMart is tantamount to going straight into the pit of hell for me. And I am a guy who likes very much to share his misery with everyone around me. ;):sneaky:

Remember when Steak n Shake had the commercials about eating at a restaurant or workaurant and using plastic or glass/ ceramic dishes? Funny now all our Steak n Shakes all use plastic and paper and only a kiosk to order your food. They are now ran with only 3 people per shift, cook, drive through and runner. No one hardly ever eats inside anymore. I look for them to close within 3yrs.

You've hit upon on of my pet peeves. Wal-Mart, Kroger or just about any big store. What's the point of having 15 registers when there's only one, maybe two cashiers? It takes longer to check out than it does to shop the entire store! 🤬
Bingo I always wondered that myself! Why have 20 registers and never use more than 3? What a waste of space !!

We also hate that if they actually do have cashiers, the conveyor belts are significantly shorter than they use to be. Like, they're half size. We used to be able to get a weeks worth of grocery's on the belt. Now you get a few items, and have to wait for the belt to move to fit more. And you better pray the cashier either has the blet set to automaitc mode or is paying attention and move it up manually as there is room

1. You do realize that Walmart will deliver directly to your home right?

2. Maybe I'm the odd one but I don't understand those hatred for using self-checkouts.

As I have mentioned before we get our groceries delivered and there are only certain things that I actually go to Walmart to buy, such as bananas.

I would rather scan myself on my own and get the hell out of there without having to talk to anybody then stand in a line and listen to the cashier Yap at me.

No Nght Rider, you are not the odd one who likes the self checkout. I like them too. The quicker in and out the better!

Today was one of those very rare days when I was forced to enter a Walmart. My wife was too sick to go and we have the Guy Fawkes party tomorrow. As I mentioned earlier, I surely like to spread my unhappiness around and I noticed my wife is over in the other house working on some electric. Guess she wasn't that sick after all.

Not to my home. Just like same day next day is more like 3-4 days. Small price to pay to live away from other people. The more self-checkout becomes the norm, the more stores are complaining that people are not scanning items or scanning cheaper items while putting the more expensive items in the bag. Did nobody not see that coming. Then the casher/helper/overseer for self-checkout is too busy wucking it up with their friend to pay attention to what they are supposed to.
Okay I'm old but I can remember when super-markets had cashers, and bag boys, (yes boys. I don't remember of ever seeing a girl doing it) then the Bag Boy pushed your cart to the car and helped put the bags (paper by the way) in the trunk. They did that for everyone, man, woman, young, old, it was part of the service.

Ray's Applemart in Council Grove, KS still does all of that and with a smile. Very clean, well stocked and no self checkouts. The bags are plastic though.

so here's the deal

i wake up at like 4AM every stinking day (i dunno why)

by the time i make us breakfast, and do the usual "bathroom duties" (several of them), it's like now 5:30.

so off i go to the local CVS to get our newspaper, and maybe pick up meds, or just talk with either pharmacist or cashier that i have known for years.

then most days mind you not once a week or once a month, i head to walmart, as i shop for various family, and yes, they give me a list, and money to shop for them.

ok, many mornings i get there just a wee bit past 6AM, when they open.

today, i was running late, and i got there just before 8AM, and by the time i get to the cash registers, it is now 8:05....

WHERE DA HELL ARE THE CASHIERS..???

bad enough at 6 AM, they ain't there, and we all have to use self check outs..

BUT AT 8 AM...???

so, i get home and email them a scathing letter on the incompetent jackass (i used stronger words all the way thru) that they have in charge of the monkeys...

in fact, i serious DO believe, monkeys can do a better job of running that store.

(so my apologies for offending monkeys)

what a bunch of UNBELIEVABLE BS at that store.....

i should have copied the email, but it was on thier website, not my personal email.

they will get back to me, they always do....

did you get that..??

THEY ALWAYS DO........

in about 2 weeks time......i guess customer service at corporate sucks too..????
When Wal-mart employees leave Wal-mart they are sent to California,, to help make, take a guess,,,,, gun laws. Now we know
