Watch perfection?

So, I was minding my own business today and this happened.
Took the plunge on my first automatic and Seiko watch.
I’ll be swapping out the metal bracelet for black silicone.

Beautiful Seiko Prospect diver, you are going to love the lume. Seiko divers have the best lume in the business.

Congratulations on your first auto, just something about an automatic that is special. They are pieces of mechanical artwork.

Not a big rubber strap fan, I prefer Nylon or cotton canvas natos. Wet sweaty steel case backs and rubber straps iratate the bejezus out of my wrist. Plus I list a nice Citizen when crewing a sailboat in the Port Huron to Mackinaw race. Popped a pin on a line and off it fell into the deep before I could blink. Since then one piece straps around water.

If you don't have one and plan on changing straps buy a decent springbar tool, don't use a knife or other tool will scratch the case most likely. Seikos also have the biggest strongest springbars.

You are correct. The movement is like watching butter melt off a hot biscuit.

You crazy watch guys. I don't even wear watches and you got me drooling over one. Namely a Marathon Jumbo.

Lol be careful watches are a slippery slope, just like shotguns.

I was just looking at Marathons. I saw the announcement that they were bringing out thier pilot watch in steel again. For many years it was strictly a fiber case. Marathons are the pride of Canada and truly special watches.

Are you liking the quartz or the auto version. They really are great watches. With interesting variations and histories. I have been looking longingly at thier Red Maple leaf version of the diver, with a large msple leaf on the dial, which are made to certain search and rescue military and police specs.

Most of thier watches, not sure if all, have nato stock numbers and pass military standards because until recently they were only sold primarily in the px system. They have only recently started being sold in other outlets.

The one I was looking at was an auto. It also cost as much as 2 Benelli M4s.

Like I said, slippery slippery slope lol.

When I was in IT making REAL good money I was in my expensive watch phase with the executives in several large automotive suppliers, Rolex, Blancpain etc. But I matured and learned that they were just keep up with the Jones stuff and when I sold them off and kept the watches that actually meant something I was happier. They did however serve a nice purpose, they funded a hunting cabin and the down payment on the retirement homestead. Of course when I bought then they were no where near today's prices and I got a real good return on investment. It was a huge markup.

Post sell-off watchbox.

Check out Isobrite watches. I have one and LOVE it. It has T-100 illumination, bright as anything and its almost 10 years old and never even replaced the battery yet keeps great time and still really bright. But I also love and have a few Luminox watches as well. Almost as addicting as guns. Just my two cents....

Very nice, the Hamilton Khaki line have been great watches for quite a while. They had Khski Navy with a maroon face one time I lusted over but never ended up buying for some reason. I have not seen one for sale anywhere in quite a while.
Yea it has a nice size to where I can wear every day very comfortable. I haven’t seen them around either especially the I got you see the blues one on eBay . I never seen one this size and color it’s definitely my favorite to wear thanks Sld
