What are you doing right now??

At the pain management doctor for steroid injections into my lower back. We will see if this helps, or if I will need surgery on my lower back.
Have you given any consideration on trying a spinal cord stimulator. I had several steroid injections never helped. I was hesitant to get the stimulator but after nearly two years in a wheelchair I had to try something else. My pain management dr placed one externally, it was like a day & night change, could walk without any pain. About two weeks later a spinal cord surgeon Implanted the battery a little above my waistline and leads that run from the battery to just below my neck. This was a little over eight years ago have had one rechargeable battery replacement. A couple of days ago recharged the battery and accidentally turned the stimulation all the way up just before I left for a range trip. My legs were tingling a little but got very bad about 15-20 minutes into my trip.

I have to play the insurance game. I have to try the shots for a while to see if it helps. If the shots don't work or if they do work but wear off and I have to keep getting shots, then I have to see what the doctor recommends and what the insurance company will do for me. A waiting game for now.

Know what ya mean. VA payed for my surgery but took over 2 months to get approval and surgery was re-scheduled 2 times waiting for that approval. Hope you get some relief soon.

not knowing your particular situation, i can only speak of mine..i had a herniated disc, no amount of injections or physical therapy worked, the end result was spinal fusion.

in fact, the physical therapy made me want to die, right in front of the PT person, or at least, in the doctors office...where i'd wake up from the dead and ask..??? "do you believe me now ahole..???"

i hope you get what's needed. i do know that insurance game myself.
