What are you doing right now??

Sitting here looking at the sunshine and seeing that it is 13 degrees with a wind chill of 0 and the high will only be 17 degrees at the most. Then also it is supposed to start snowing. Calling for 3 - 5 " . I know that isn't a lot of snow for some of the folks here but for us that is a little above average snow fall.

I woke up to about an 1.5" on the ground yesterday morning and we got about an inch last night. But being Southern Illinois , it is supposed to be in the mid 50's by Monday. 🤷‍♂️

Started cleaning off the loading bench. The wife came out later and I put her to work pulling some bullets. After the bench got cleared up, I reloaded some more shotgun as the next few weeks are gonna be busy. I also mounted my Lyman turret press on my cleaning bench and ran some .45 ACP through my bulge buster die. Momma put them through the case checker and put them in an ammo can. Went inside and had a late lunch.

Just finished getting a mfg. date for my IWI Masada 9 mm, 17+1 from IWI USA as there is no data base online. That made me very happy. :) Great firearm, inexpensive too. Fits and fires great for me, but others should check it out, if one in your area. An LGS has less popular/little known firearms, but I have always wanted one similar to the Jericho model (.45 acp) and this one fits very nicely!!!

Just found this out now. I missed out on the last time Uncle Ted came around. 6 miles away as the crow flies over South Texas brush country. 13.8 miles away from my house by road. This place is just a small-town Texas venue not far from me. I'm excited about this show. The wife and I hardly go out to things like this, but I really want to go to this one!

The full size Masada ?

Been home for a while. Temp is hovering around -6, -5... It's supposed to start warming up, I'll believe it when I see it. There were a few hearty birds flying around on the backroad. We have these little flocks of small white birds that fly out in a cloud and you're sure you're going to have a bird strike all over your windshield, but they sweep away and you miss them. And the crows...they seem to like to fly around and play in the minus single digits, not so much at twenty below.
I'm tired, It's only Tuesday and it's been a week.

The full size Masada ?
Yes, the "full size" Masada, not the Slim, nor the Tactical. It is a great pistol, similar to one of the Glocks, I understand. Having a GREAT DAY, the extra magazines, I ordered got here today too. Alas, supposed to rain here tomorrow and has been too cold here for this olde man anyways. Won't go into a firing range as I am on a portable oxygen generator. So have to wait until it warms up and then...desert here I come! Always liked just going shooting outdoors anyways.

Okay, so I am closing the curtains upstairs and I'm looking out the window... It's clear and damned cold. Lots of stars out. Now if you know anything about prairie people, it's we look up. A lot. Anyway, I am seeing stars. It's a nice night. Then I see a set of lights (no nav lights, just two pale white lights) slowly flying to the north... Then I see another similar set heading south.

We have a lot of aircraft traffic overhead here, at many altitudes (the husband and our neighbor watch them on an app all the time). Nav lights are visible at long distances. Anyway, it came to me what they were. Drones. Had to be. I watched them as they went. They seemed to be working search vectors...or something. I'm too tired now, but if it had been a weekend (and a whole lot warmer), I'd have gone on an adventure
