What are you doing right now??

Went to the range yesterday and it felt so good. I took the two XDs, the Echelon and the PDP. The Echelon and the XDM Elite have dots, the other two don't. So I have decided to definitely replace the Dragonfly on the XDM because all I see with that thing is a sparkly red star. My old eyes don't like it. I didn't do that bad with it though. The Echelon did very well with the Holosun green donut of death. I worked with my grip a bit and it didn't hurt my hand as much, so we'll practice more with it.
The XD shot well and I was able to keep my groupings tighter, but the PDP just sang. I punched a hole in the backboard with it, but I was getting tired at the end so it spread out a little. All in all I think I did pretty good for losing three weeks of practice.

Today we have to go into Fargo (as if I don't get enough of the place during the week) and pick up our tax stuff, and whatever else is on the husband's agenda. Then later today I am making a Shepherds Pie for supper. It's gloomy and rainy out, and I like cooking when it's gloomy and rainy

I enjoy bringing for our five guns to the range. Variety is the spice of life. Do I enjoy cleaning four or five guns when I get home? Meh, not so much.

But I'm sure I would enjoy some shepard's pie. 😋

Sounds like you're having a pretty good day.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Thank you Cliff! Actually, I enjoy cleaning my guns. I find it rather calming, but I am a bit weird that way. ;)
If you lived closer I would run some Shepherds Pie over for you and Mrs BassCliff to try, but WI is rather a long haul .

I always wait till the next day to clean my guns, that way all the powder and stuff creeped out if all the expansion cracks that’s in all barrels, if you ever notice if you clean the gun when you get home, go run a patch down the barrel the next day or two and more stuff comes out, expansion cracks, perfectly normal in guns

funny thing, is last weeks range hours with the wife, i had previously cleaned the the crap out them on a few rainy days
when i got home and tore them down...they looked like we had not even fired but a few, only had some residue on the feed ramps and entrance to the breech on the 1911s
the xds...well they got dirty
