Heading back home. No deer for me this year, but it’s always good to get together with the other hunters for the potlucks and bonfires at the cabin. The DNR got their $35 donation again this year, my turn next year

I came up empty this week end as well. Saw a lot of deer, but none of them were legal by Texas regulations on size. Mouse never showed back up, so I was victorius !!

Went to Holloman AFB commissary to do some shopping for the holiday. It's just the wife, me and Maggie. Didn't want turkey this year so picked up a brisket and that's what we will have. Honestly just another day for us. It's a beautiful day and getting ready to take Maggie for her afternoon walk. Trees are just starting to change color here, Mostly yellow.

I always felt that I did not appreciate how stressed and tightly wound I was until I sat in a tree stand in the peaceful woods and relaxed. And fell asleep. I am sure I missed seeing some big trophy deer that came to my plot to investigate the snoring. Loved the peace and quiet. But then, you can't eat that......Heading back home. I am starting to unwind slowly. It is taking years and I am stubborn. My wife noticed it and she said I looked a little relaxed lately. When I went into garage yesterday morning and there was water leaking form the kinetico water softener water filter for the 3rd time I didn't explode. Mind you I still cussed but it was so quiet no-one heard it. Called dealer but have not heard back from them. Hope they call me tomorrow. Honestly she likes it but it feels funny not to explode but if it makes her happy guess its ok.

Loaded 2 boxes of shotshells for the next weekend. Cleaned the Yellowboy. Need to take a close look at the .45 Lightning, it doesn't want to reliably feed. One bullet type fed easily, but another jammed. Maybe tomorrow.

Just finished cleaning the Staccato XL. Trigger is coming in at 1lb 9.5oz. average over 5 pulls on wheeler. Hit some decent 5 and 10 round groups at 10yds this morning. Having a good time with this new gun. it is a much better shooter than I am.
