What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

I got this one from my brother in law when he passed, no clue where he got it. it has a bit of play and slack in everything. it would probably still be fine to shoot but i am not a big 30 30 fan anyway. it came with a few boxes of ammo he had. now you got me wantin to get that thing out and look at it. lol

I think if there’s no broken parts it’s fine. Loose, play and slack are all inherent in lever actions in my opinion. You know, to a degree. If it seems unsafe to you though I think I’d have it checked out by a competent gunsmith before you shoot it.

I inherited a 1951 model 97. When I got it it was put together incorrectly. Every time I slid the action outwards it pulled apart. Turns out my uncle had installed the mag tube 90 degrees from correct. I broke the gun down ( not completely because damn, there’s a lot of parts in a 97), cleaned it and assembled it correctly. Took it out and shot it. It’s fine. I did however refrain from using the “ slam fire” method because, well, it’s very old. No real advantage to that so why take the chance.

Almost every time I log onto the forum see a pistol, rifle, shotgun I'd like to have. Really don't need another gun but still have wants that keep me looking. Recently researched info on an Sig P-365 Fuse that looks good. But, need another gun like I need another hole in my butt.
You need to take the first step in recovery & acknowledge that you're addicted... to gun pr0n! 😁

Please allow me to enable you on this one hahaha. I've been looking at the Fuse to replace my 365 XL as my EDC. Love everything about the gun, but waiting on some of the kinks to get ironed out. First few batches people have been reporting all sorts of FTF/FTE issues.
This is a common complaint. For the life of me, I don't understand why Sig insists on using their customers as beta testers. I'd like to support their enterprise with a few purchases, but at this point they're either jam-O-matics or they're going off if you just sneeze the wrong way (P320). In the case of the latter, they refuse to admit their engineers fudged the fundamentals in the design, for fear that the P320 chickens will come home to roost....

What most gun-owners don't realize is that the P320 uncommanded discharge problem has NOT been fixed, even after two voluntary "upgrades"/"repairs". The latest on the P320 saga is the last couple of court cases where Sig LOST the lawsuits against them. Here's the receipts: youtube.com/watch?v=mtzPvJiuCL8

Please understand I am NOT a gun snob. I was eager to buy a P320 until I heard about the scores of cases where P320's discharged without warning through no fault of the user - even extending into the LE/military realm. I double-checked to make sure these weren't instances of disgruntled users.

Mags came in today, some i opened, some i didn't. magpul Tmags will be here tomorrow.

I bought a sig m11-A1 9mm about 9 years ago and right out of the box it wouldn't shoot anything except RN ammo no HP ammo at all. Tryed all the mags and no difference.Feed ramp was all full of pits, ruff as hell. Called sig they sent me a label to send it back. Got a email from them and they said they shot it 60 times and it was fine.So I called them up and talked to some guy who was in charge of testing and asked him if he tested all the clips. He told me that I only sent 1. I told him bullchit i sent all 3 that i got with the gun.Got a email next day they found the other 2 clips and gun was on it's way back.Went to the range and SAme thing JAM JAM JAM.So i got out the dremel and some super fine compound and fixed it myself.I thought for sure they would put in a new barrel. A guy here at the range had a 320 and dropped it by accident in the dirt and it went OFF TWICE. Good thing he was down range at the targets. JMHO

Looks like you did a pretty good job cleaning up the ramp. I had a Wilson Combat 320 must have fired at least 300-500 rounds never had a problem, but never dropped it.

The pics are before i cleaned it up.See on left side of ramp where it looks all rough? and the bottom where its full of pits? I took those pics to send to sig.I'll see if i can figure out how to take pics of it after i got finished.I was lucky that it didn't change the angle of the ramp.
Guess I was looking at the left outer edge middle of the ramp still looks rough. Yeah hard to believe they wouldn't just replace the barrel. Before CNC machined barrels with full ramps were common it was a tedious job throating & polishing 1911 barrels, did screw up a couple. Good luck.
