I had a Buck 110 that I carried in the leather, snap-closed sheath it came in, for a number of years on sea and shore duty. Bought it in 1972 out of the ship's store for around $12 as I recall. Solid brass bolsters and ebony wooden grips. Everyone aboard ship carried a knife, and the 110 was a popular choice, along with the Case XX. A lot of the deck force guys carried sheath knives, that were basically hunting knives. Around '78-'79 while aboard my 3rd ship, I had an eagle (screaming eagle style) engraved on the bolster. Somehow, between divorces and moving that knife disappeared. This is my US-made folding Buck 110, I've been carrying it for about 25 years. Some folks said they own a Buck knife for 40 years and it's still sharp as hell.

But I suppose it's not about the country, it's about the manufacturer.
I have a Gerber Paraframe clipped on my range bag, and have cut a lot of cardboard for targets with it. Still as sharp as ever.Today, it's a Gerber Paraframe. Next Monday, it's going to be a Sandrin Dellatorre. Kind of like going from a Chevy to a Cadillac!

It's been a good knife and I'll probably have it sharpened and add it to my range bag... but the Sandrin is too nice not to carryI have a Gerber Paraframe clipped on my range bag, and have cut a lot of cardboard for targets with it. Still as sharp as ever.
