What watches

Any watch wearers out there? What watch or watches are you wearing?

Today I am wearing a Citizen on a summer canvas Nato. I get a blister if I have a case back rub on my sweaty wrist. My watches these days are mostly lower end, I found out expensive watches do not bring me more joy than those I don't worry damaging or losing as much.

Here are a few of my favorites. Bulova always tends to speak to my tastes. I can't afford the really expensive ones.... Yet.
Also, I blame another equally expensive hobby that has replaced my love for watches. Not gonna name any names.
I don't wear them daily, and haven't much since I moved down to Tx. Need to get the batteries replaced in the left and right ones, the middle is an automatic.

Nice... I find greater pleasure in cheaper watches, don't worry about every scratch. I sold all my expensive ones and put them into a pool.

Always wore the inexpensive Casio's & Timex's when I wore a watch. Officially haven't worn one in 9 yrs (as of yesterday), when I ret'd for the second (and last) time. :)

I use my phone if I need to know the time now.

I worked as a welder from a young age and for some reason I could only get Timex brand to last more than a couple days. Any other brand would just stop working after 2 or 3 days.

As I type this , I have a Timex Expedition on my wrist with a Speidel twist o flex band.

Cool, I have not seen a twistofkex in years. Very retro, but probably still works as great as they ever did.

Same here papa ........... my experiences probably slightly worse since I'm left handed (held the stinger in my left) and obviously wore the watch on my left wrist. After ruining several good watches, I finally began trying to remember to take them off at the beginning of the work day. Ha!

That was the only way I could save them, any of them, from the very inexpensive to the most expensive. If I forgot to take them off, I would immediately remember right after I struck the first arc that I should have ....... Oh well! Too late now. It would often happen just that quick.

But trying to think back through the haze of 70+ years, I think the Timex was the one that would sometimes hold up the best/longest. I also ruined my wedding band several times from weld splatter when I'd try to something real quick without gloves. In fact until just 2 yrs ago when the wife and I bought each other some really nice wedding rings, I was still wearing my original, plain band with a small spot of weld splatter about the size of the head of a straight pin ............... that had been melted into the ring for about 45 yrs.

"Facts ... stranger than fiction!"

I wanted to get a Timex, but there were some negative comments from wearers that made me rethink my choice. I really wanted one due to their older marketing phrase, "Takes a licking and keeps on ticking."
I have akways had good luck with them. And thier indigo backlight is pretty much the best I have found.

I welded while in the Navy, and the guantlet-style leather welding gloves always covered my watch, so no messed-up watch faces, but did aquire spatter burns from wearing short-sleeve shirts on occasion, lol.

I was a big Watch guy years ago . Best ones was in the Navy I also had my dive watches , Seiko dive master was my best. But Citizens took over for awhile and others , I always had my eye on the golden ring watch they had in the ships store , it was a Rolex dive watch ,Red and Blue it had the Pepsi nickname . But the price was over $1,000 dollars which was alot of money back in the 80's . No one ever bought so they raffled it off, I didn't win ..lol. Over time I loved the Tag Heuer Always wanted one but then again price the formula 1 was like $1,500 it was a dream , Then my wife surprised me for my birthday with my dream watch Tag Heuer F1 . I still have it today and only wear it on weekends or when we travel . But the crazy thing is if you look at the same watch today from Tag the sell for $4,500 . Is that crazy ..Sorry so long ..brings back old times in life ...
