Would you carry a 22 mag

Years ago I had a small "AMT 22 mag". Great "Jam-O-Matic". It in short time it broke, I sent it back to be repaired. I get it back and quickly traded it.
One thing, when you fired it, it was LOUD.

If you cannot trust your life with a firearm, you need to find one you can.

Mine shot fine, I had more problems with the rimfire cartridge not going boom. I found the Winchester rounds were more reliable than any of the CCI ammo at the time.
Boy were they a bear to disassemble and reassemble.

Oh, and bear mace will F up a person.. ask me how I know ….

Poor sap that tried to rob me had to go to ER
I wasn’t trying to rob you I was just trying to get you to pay for a fricking beer! My eyes still hurt!

Yes, but a .357 snubbie does.
A 10.5oz .357 is…brutal, if you run actual magnum loads. My former 340PD (Scandium frame, titanium cylinder) was, without a doubt, the hardest to control, most punishing pistol recoil-wise that I’ve ever shot, running 125gr Gold Dot LE magnums. Accurate follow-ups took forever…I mean, over 1 second splits.

I switched to a 640 Pro; heavier, but controls magnum loads with no problems…but it’s also a lot heavier. I’ll probably be carrying it more now.

When I had that Astra Terminator revolver in .44 mag, brutal was firing Hornady 300gr XTP full power loads in it…….

I had a 329Pd for about a week. One trip to the range convinced me that if I wanted that kind of pain it might be preferable to visit Mistress Fifi so I sold it.

I have used .22 long and 22 magnums, yes in a rifle so results will be different thru a shorter barrel. Having hunted coyote with both rounds, my cousin who has a yote problem also has neighbors who complain about noise so .22s are preferred, the difference in terminal performance was quite noticeable.

I am confidant that few .22 magnums in the right places is going to wreck a miscreant's day

Well, I know you and you are carrying a revolver probably right now. And it's not a .22 Mag.
