I've always used a larger, heavier gun for my CCW qualifications. You'll usually shoot better with them. Mine is a cheap 17 round Ruger SR9e. It's just a good shooting gun that's accurate.

22lr uppers are lots of fun and cheap shooting. I got a dedicated 22lr upper after trying a CMMG conversion kit. Better accuracy.

I used the A14B mount with a Holosun 507C. Haven't had any issues with it coming lose yet.

I love my Rock Island Ultra 1911 in 10mm .... Heavy steel frame and slide really helps with recoil mitigation. Been very reliable.

Same EDC gun year round. Started carrying daily in 2002 with a Taurus PT745 mp. Then night a Ruger P346. Bought a Sig Sauer C3 in 2009, carried it up until December 2022. After open heart surgery I swapped to a Sig Sauer P365xl for the lighter weight.
