Hayes, what kind of wood is that, and what do you use to water proof it on that end grain? BTW, really nice job!
It is hickory and walnut. Scraps from a couple dining tables I built. After glue up and a lot of sanding I immerse the board in food grade mineral oil. Overnight. You can wash the board in the sink but don't immerse in water. Add a little mineral oil from time to time for maintenance and it will last generations. Cutting boards are a lot of work but a good way to use quality hardwood scraps.

Granddaughter transport day. Shop day today, will sharpen chainsaws for some work on Monday. Re-located a 220v outlet for the jointer yesterday. Technician coming to repair my planer today. Bruno the Kitten that adopted us is going to the vet to have his kitty balls removed this morning. It is a full day ahead. Hope y'all have a good one.

P.S. Mrs Greener was quick to volunteer to take Bruno to the vet. Is there a subtle message in that?

Sipping on coffee #1, dumping email and scrolling through the forum. Busy day ahead. The husband got home late, so we have to pack up the truck this morning. I hear the recycling truck outside...I missed it (didn't put the bin outside, I chose sleep instead). That's okay, I can skip a week now and then because I am usually the only one here and I don't generate much to recycle. On that note, I better move...lots to do.

My county and garbologists stopped their recycling programs. It has been costing them money, no return in it.

Maybe we need better quality garbage.
We only have garbage pickup once a week, just one garbage can. It used to get pretty full until I got myself a 55-gallon barrel. Now we burn all the junk mail, paper and cardboard. The garbage can for pickup is now only half to three quarters filled every week. But I live out in the country, so I can have a burn barrel.
