i wonder how much that 3-day course costs in both fees and ammo? i'm guessing most of those types of courses are out of reach of the average guy. if i had my choice (and the money) i'd rather take a self/home defense workshop or a long range shooting class.

Universal yes, but here in the garden state all of those are coupled with some sort of hand gesture. Could be the finger, double finger, the one where you drag your fingers up your neck and off your chin, the single open hand raised to eye level (double hand used for added anger).

I agree with @KillerFord1977. Knowing what you want to use it for will generally get you going in the right direction. Answer that question first. I have 90 year old wood stocks that haven’t split and are in great condition. Considering today’s finishes i don’t see why a wood stock would split...
