Funny True story, in the pic of it hanging on the ceiling you will see two orange curly rod holders to the left. Well i don't have those anymore. i was catfishing on a nearby pond and had a pole in each of them stuck in the bank. so it's kinda slow and i relax and sit back in the chair and about that time a catfish hit the line hard, pulled that cheap piece of crap outta the ground and in the water, with my dern rod and reel with it.

I started to jump in after it and thought better, so there went my rod and reel in the bottom of this big pond. So i stood up and said a few choice words, pulled my rod outta the other one and pulled it up and threw it far as i could in the pond and yelled, you might as well have this other one too you SOB. Both my grandsons are dying laughing. i was pissed. one of em started talking some trash and i took off after him. he knew my old butt couldn't catch him. we all still get a laugh at that.

What pissed me off more is i lost an expensive muzzle brake.

Thanks guys!

I was aware the "stock" muzzle device on this rifle would be pretty obnoxious. One of my instructors was in the store while I was making the purchase and I asked him about it. He said, "Yeah, it gets pretty loud but for the rifle class I always tell my students to double up on the ear-pro." With that recommendation I think I'll tame this beast a bit and order up an A2 Flash Hider.

I've been on the range in the bay next to one of these rifles with a muzzle brake. The concussion felt like an earth quake. It was blowing targets off the carriers. I don't want to be "that guy".

Are they all about the same? Can I spend $10-$15 or do I need to spend $50? It seems 1/2"-28 is the standard thread. I will RTFM to make sure mine is the same.

All you guys are pretty fantastic. ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff
Before I suppressed my 10.5 in shortie AR it had a a pretty obnoxious flash hider on it and when we would fire it we would all giggle because you could feel the blast in your chest.
