Do You Even Plink Bro......

I need to pickup some Aquila to give it a try it's definitely peaked my interest.
I prefer Aguila’s Interceptor, at least in handguns.

First, because a .22 hollow point is kinda pointless...it’s almost certainly not going to expand, and if it does...it’ll underpenetrate. No bueno.

Second, the Interceptor’s flat nose is less likely to deflect off bone.

YMMV.

Yes, it is very true.

That’s Velocitor fired out of a 2” LCR into clothed gel. No expansion.

I have killed over 100 Wild Feral Hogs with a CCI 40 Grain .22 LR at 60 yards with well-placed headshots and killed several coyotes out to 100 yards. Here is one Pig and One Coyote killed with .22 Lr ..22 Lr is still a lethal round.proof in the photos.

There's nothing like bringing out the big guns!

I do enjoy shooting .22lr sometimes for a quiet cheaper day at the range but nothing beats shooting 10mm!

I really like warming up with a .22...just feels good.

I’ll also, from time to time, brush up on the fundamentals with a brick of .22...500 rounds is no big deal, but you can get a lot done to get back to the basics...grip, sight picture, trigger press...

Usually go with my Buckmark or 617 for that.

I make trips to the indoor range sometimes with just a .22lr pistol just to relax and like you said get back to basics.

Nice shooting !

I dont disagree, but what do you use with hogs 2-20 on the run when Wilbur takes a dirt nap and the rest haul ass ?
I dont see a .22lr takimg down a runner if you cant make a head shot every trigger pull ..

Did you take the time to watch the video the .22 rounds meet the FBI standards of penetration and the CCI Velociter HP they all mushroomed?

They can't run with their back feet tied look at the picture. 🤪

The .22lr is probably the most underestimated round out there and is capable of a lot more then people give it credit.

Watched a big boar take 7 5.56 rounds to the neck, shoulders and vitals area and keep on trucking. Son missed the head shot a smidge too far back and got the neck. I would not want to be standing in a field with a .22 is all I’m saying .

.22 is bad ass round.
On hogs it would make me real neevous 😲

I Have taken 3 headshots in the day time with the 22LR just out scouting around but the rest scattered but if you let them lay sometimes the hogs return within a half hour or so and start eating again but When I am on the Eradication Contract I use .223 or .308 and have killed as many as 12 in one single engagement at night I use red & green kill lights around the feeders and blindside lights remotely activated so you can see if its a target-rich environment sometimes with 3 of us shooting we fill a pick-up truck bed full of hogs in one night. we use sight mark photon, NV Scopes. most of the time with the lights no NV Scope is needed as the red and green hights allow you to see your targets clear.
