Getting old

Grew up on a farm, plenty of hard work, 9 years in military, 12 years LEO. Often wilder than a junk yard dog has more than caught up with me at 77. Have a few medical issues that hamper my activities. The old brain still works most of the time but the body can't keep up. Not giving up but do have limitations.

I'm not going into all the genius moves I made in my youth that are coming back to haunt me now, but the word of the day is definitely what's up Doc. As in the episode where Bugs breaks into Sing Song prison where Yosemite Sam is a jailer. Which is on the TV right now.

You're only as old as you feel. When you stop doing stuff you die. So do stuff. For example, I haven't been a contractor in over 13 years. We had a wicked storm and tornado come through the other night. Today I get a message from a lady who's house I sided and deck I built 22 years ago. She has some hail damage. Being the smart feller I am, I left them with a box of the siding at the end of the job. She asked me if I would be interested in doing some repairs. Which I will be doing Saturday. For free. Why ? Because she and her husband are old and I am not. And I don't need money. SO DO STUFF.

I hear ya brother, I have died several times and I wondered why I was left behind. I am my wife's sole caretaker as she is on oxygen 24/7 so I keep busy. I guess I will see my old friends soon but right now God has to much fun watching me screw up and the devil still has a restraining order against me.

For those of us with an iPhone when in the forum click on the upload icon, on my phone it’s upper right, like you we’re going to text someone but scroll down and click on Add to Home Screen, and there you have it.

At my last doctor's appointment I complained about a little arthritis in my hands. After a quick examination he diagnosed me as having early onset rigor mortis.
