The Smith & Wesson M&P Shield is another excellent choice for a concealed carry pistol. It's small and lightweight but still has a good-sized magazine capacity and a good trigger. It's also my favorite one, and I recommend getting a polymer 80 Glock Slide to make it look much better. The Ruger LC9s are a great option for those who want more firepower than the other two options. It has a 9mm Luger chambering and a magazine capacity of 7+1 rounds. All of these pistols are great choices for self-defense and concealed carry.

If I'm going to carry a 9mm double stack that is G19 size, I'll take the P229.

But that's a big unfair, since they're not even in the same ballpark. Oh well. ;)
 
Some very nice choices for sure. Do you guys remember when you just had revolvers and some semi auto offerings. I started my career in 1981 and was issued a smith model 15 which lead to a smith model 19. Then I lateraled to another agency who allowed the smith model 25-5 45 Long Colt which then was changed for the Sig P220. I could go on for ever. The gun industry has really advanced and continues to be very competitive which is very good for us.
