good day at the range

I agree with @BassCliff said. You did good for feeling "listless". I've been fighting that feeling for a few weeks now. All I do know for sure is that after I empty several mags down range, I feel SO much better. I will bet you feel a little bit better too. :)
Listless? I am never listless. For 46 years Mrs Greener can always be counted on to provide me a list. I am years behind on some of them but there's always something for tomorrow....🙃

Hi,

Hey! That's good stuff! Two things I take away from your post today:

1. It's great to see that your reloads are functioning properly.

2. It's also wise to train in all kinds of conditions. I might not be at my physical best, but I must be able to respond properly through any adversity should the need arise. (I hope there's never a need.)

Thanks for sharing your trip today. That target looks good!

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff
yes, thanks, my reloads have gotten better, especially since i switched over to the poly-coated bullets for the 45's or copper coated for the 9mm...

way less to no smoke when shooting, thanks to not shooting lead cast.

also true, we can be sickly, but maybe going to the pharmacy and need to make a quick self defensive move..

so sick or well, we need to be prepared as best as possible.

oh i sure do...i was cleaning that gun, listening to the AM radio, running the walnut media cleaner, then helped the wife repot the poinsettia she bought in mid-november....

now i am eating a slice of Irish Soda Bread, with butter and a hot chocolate.

well, to me, a FANTASTIC DAY at the range

took the CZ 75 B Omega, 9mm, 50 rds of my reloads with Berry's Bullets, RN 115 gr, copper coated, and 50 rds of new S&B, 115 gr as well

always loved my CZ collection

set targets at 8 yds

the 2 holes at the top corners are where the target carrier punches holes

range was unusually busy at opening....never seen that many guys there during a weekday before.

Not to shabby there, good job!

i had a semi-fair day at the range this morning.

took my G-44 and 150 rounds of .22lr

50 rds were CCI

100 were Blazer.

but i had a serious issue with the CCI....

PERFECT results with the Blazer.

i KNOW why.......the RSO set me straight........

but i'd suspect more of you WOULD KNOW, having more experience than me.

and i ain't shy about my foibles.....i'm only human..

here is a pic of the ammo i had stocked during the scandemic...since everyone was cleaning out all the other calibers

i'll tell you why.....later.

The best range day I've had in years. Ate a light breakfast, no coffee, took two Benadryls and used new prescription eye drops. This was first time to shoot the 365 Fuse, accuracy was ok but had failure to feed every other round through three factory magazines. The rounds were way below feed lips in the mags. ( one 17 rd & two 21 rd ). The trigger is horrible a very spongy long break. The SA 1911AOS and DW 1911 Vigil shot very well. FORKED UP P-365 FUSE IS MADE BY SIG, NOT SA.

ok, well here's why..that .22lr ammo is for revolvers...did i know that when i bought it..???

a resounding NO..

i used to buy stuff at an old fashion Army/Navy store

during the scandemic, they got in quite a bit of ammo.....

so since i had the G-44, and they had a sale on .22lr, i bought much of it. being new back then, i didn't know any better, and the sales gal assumed i knew about revolver and semi-automatic .22 ammo.

so today, my G-44 would shoot a round, but not cycle..RSO put me straight

i ain't about to buy a .22 revolver

but the range has at least 2 for rent...a Ruger for $5.00 per hour

and a S&W for $15.00

i'll tell you what too

imma gonna bring at the very least 500 rounds of that .22 when i go that day........and rent me a revolver.

that barrel will be so hot, i'll spit roast a pig.

That .22LR seems a little under powered, only 710 fps. It's no wonder your semi-auto would not cycle properly. Yes, that seems good for revolvers and single shot firearms only.

I have a Heritage cowboy gun in .22. It gets all the "bad" ammo.

Thank you for your indulgence,

i know....being new back then, and the scandemic on us, the G-44 was a late purchase (well into the beginning of the rush to buy guns and ammo, and what seemed like a miles long line to get into the stores).

as a result, i thought all .22 lr was created equally.

but at least i can rent a revolver at the range, so that ammo will be used up in no time.

who knows, maybe i might break down and get a .22 revolver, i;ll at least have 2 samples to decide which one i like better.

From one old noob to another... ;)

You probably know this. The Heritage Rough Rider is pretty affordable. I've seen them on sale for a little over a buck. The Ruger Wrangler is perhaps a couple of bucks, less when on sale, and is probably a little better quality. But I really enjoy my little Heritage cowboy gun. :)

Thank you for your indulgence,
