I Love REVOLVERS

Grayfox

How do you like that JIT. Been using an old Don Hume first agent for a J frame with no trouble but thinking of going with the JIT for a bit more retention. Okay I just like the looks. I have heard it is a little bulky, the first agent most certainly is not.

My apologies for not getting back to you sooner. I like the JIT a lot. Technically its belt slide type holster, but it completely covers a 2" J-frame with only the very tip of the barrel sticking out. Being an Avenger style design, it pulls the butt in close to the body. I've been very happy with it. (y)

Gee thanks, I had just about talked myself into NOT buying one. I need another J frame holster like I need an extra hole in my head. Now..... ;) :ROFLMAO:

I use a JIT Slide daily also. Appendix OWB with a 2” K frame (model 12).

I like carrying IWB, but I already have a Sig P320 IWB. Keeping the 12 OWB keeps things from getting too crowded.

I used to be on Evan Marshall’s Stopping Power Forum quite a bit. He was a big fan of the JIT Slide, and that’s where I got turned onto them.

I need a couple more. J Frame, LCR, maybe another or two.

There is something about a wheel gun
Practical - Simplicity - great for the professional and the civilian

I come to this site to learn.

QUESTIONS:
For the J FRAME FANs:
For the LCR FANS
For the TAURUS FANS
1) why did you chose your revolver-?
2) how to you EDC-?
3) what would you or not change change-?
4) your next revolver purchase-?

THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE A POSITIVE THREAD:

For this Old Dawg
1) Because I was brought up a Snubby and it is a CQC tool - I could only afford a Taurus 605 357 Poly
2) it is my always firearm - cross draw OWB or IWB - when it was my BUG, pocket strong side.
3) change the trigger - not change the reliability factor
4) LCRx in either 38 or 22LR

How about you-?

Thank you
I love wheel guns and my favorite was my 41 mag with 3in barrel It was my off duty carry when I was a Deputy Sheriff. The load was 215gr semi wad cutter. Currently I carry my 45lc double action when my busted up hands give me trouble.

In hot weather I carry a S&W model 38. It weighs in at around 15 Ounces, unloaded, and has a shrouded hammer. You can still cock the hammer for single action, but the shrouding keeps the hammer from snagging on clothing. I carry in a pocket holster in my front pants pocket. Much more comfortable than any other option.

My only revolver, S&W M&P 38 special. Was my father's.

1). Late last year, Ruger released an LCR in .32 H&R Magnum as a Lipsey’s exclusive (likely due to the success of the SW Ultimate Carry models). Both the caliber and the unique color of said gun intrigued me. I had previously had a SW 642 in .357 that I hated shooting, even with .38 SP+P. So figured I’d take the LCR for a spin and picked it up at a LGS (only two were available, and were also advertised on their Gunbroker site, so I was surprised they still had one - we’re not known for getting unique “special edition” gun models in these here parts).

2). Said LCR .32 H&R is currently riding AIWB in a Harrys Holsters Icon 2.0 as I type this. The gun fit is immaculate and the comfort is, by far, the most comfortable AIWB holster I’ve tried.

3). Ruger should have upgraded the sights like SW did with the ultimate carry line. I ended up buying an XS yellow dot front sight and, though it was supposed to be easy to put on, ended up paying LGS $10 to finish the job for me. You can find my frustrations with the removal and installation of front sight in the “…bought in the last 24 hours” thread. The OEM front sight was painted white, but was still hard to pick up quickly. Huge difference using the XS yellow front sight.

4). My next purchase has already been made. My LGS should be calling me Tuesday-Wednesday to come pick up my SW 432 UC Ti .32 H&R Ultimate Carry that I ordered from Tombstone Tactical Mar 8th. It shipped yesterday, 2 day FedEx, of course late on a Friday. This one of the models released this year, so I’m hoping QC issues are resolved. It also has much smaller (and reasonable concealable) grips. The titanium cylinder knocks it down to the same weight as the LCR, 13 oz.

And, since all these positives + one negative, still equals overall positive - WHY is it such a pain to find a holster for various J-frames. Some claim that all variations fit any J-frame holster, they do not. Some holster sites have multiple listings for J-frames with various model numbers, sometimes lots of them. The Ultimate Carry line has been out over one year, but I’ve yet to see a J-frame 432 UC holster as an option. These have very different sights than J-frames that aren’t UC models. You can tell by looking at some of the J-frame holsters that they may not fit (and there are stories online about the same). It’s about time holsters makers started identifying options known to work with these Ultimate Carry models.

p.s. - I also have a 3” 2020 Colt Python. No real story there. Bought it because…well…Colt Python.

And that’s the truth…

I have a model 36 nickle that I bought used because I had always wanted one. I have a model 642 PC that I got from my ex-wife. She wanted it and I told her she wasn't going to like it and why , because the weight or lack there of. she shot it and decided it wasn't for her. So I offered her a decent price and now have it.

As for the recoil on the 642 PC , or any other J-frame , I bought a set of Pachmayr Diamond Pro grips. Made big difference . So much so that I bought a second set for the 36. Link below.
