Potent Potables (aka What’s your poison?)

When I want my quiet time with Cardinal Mendoza Brandy 15yr, while listening to satellite radio of 60's, 70's 80's music, I do not want to be disturbed.

Gotcha. I don’t know if it makes a difference on the palate but I have heard darker brews like Porter and stouts are typically served at room temp across the pond.Never been there so don’t know.
When I lived in Germany, I learned that most people in Germany and France prefer to drink pilsner at room temperature and the lagers and weizen beers a little cooler. The regulars at the gasthouses all sit at a big round table called the Stamtisch, and they have steamy copper buckets with their beer in them. I never could warm up (pun intended) to drinking warm beer, but I did find that some beers just taste better when not chilled.

Does Guinness from Europe have more body?
Now…it tastes different, though. Much creamier head, smoother, creamier mouth feel.
100% the water used.
Beer is almost all water
European, N America and Ireland all have different water composition from the minerals.
No way to replicate it unless you tanked over to America millions of gallons of water for Guinness

Real beer ( Belgian and others) taste best at cellar temperature.

Yes when we were in Ireland they drank at room temperature in wee hours like 7 am

Early dinner (steak & Guinness pie); decided to switch things up.

Also much better here than I’ve ever had in the states.

Guinness tour tomorrow…with a surprise that my wife booked, no idea what…
My mom and stepdad took that tour way back in 2012. They enjoyed it immensely. Do enjoy and shoot us (pardon the pun 😉) couple of pics so we can live vicariously through you!
