I've never owned the original XD but my uncle has a couple I've shot. I've owned a XD-M for many years though and have holsters for it. I did own the XD Mod.2 for a short time and wish I wouldn't have gotten rid of it. I have actually been on the hunt for good used Mod.2 lately so this new Mod.3 was perfect timing. So no I don't have a holster to try.

Na, the Echelon is their flagship, this is just an update (good one). This is for people who can't or unwilling to pay for the Echelon (or just like more guns

I’m going to add something to my original post…..
As mentioned I had at one point all three chambering’s in the Mod2 sub compact platform. The 9mm and 40 ran flawlessly however the 45ACP had constant stove pipe and chambering issues. When I was downsizing my collection it was the first gun I sold. I eventually sold all my 9mm handguns.
I finally got the chance to read the article on the new Mod3 and sadly it’s only
“At this time” chambered in 9mm
If and when the new Mod3 is made chambered in 45ACP or 10mm and having it ready for a red dot optic….
I will buy one in a heartbeat.

I'm so happy the mags fit from my original XD9 service pistol. I've bought a bunch. I've got mags I haven't even used. I still have 10 round low-capacity mags from when I lived in CA. I gotta get this thing cleaned up and then work out a little in my basement laser range.
I really enjoy 5" barrels too. My XD45 Mod2 Tactical, 1911 Garrison .45, XDM Elite 5.25", Ruger Mark IV Target, etc, are all a blast to shoot (and make me seem like a good shot) but I like the 4" for carry. I hope SA is not done with their "tactical" line.
For grins and giggles, I got a buncha stuff delivered yesterday.
Five Pmags, 9mm, 5.56, 7.62, and the new XD9 Mod3. It felt like Christmas!

Looks like an old biker dude i grew up around, red eyes and all.
I picked one up yesterday and plan to put 100 rounds through it this afternoon. It is a nice looking gun and feels great in my hand. Very well pleased thus far. I picked it up for $269.99 at Battle Hawk Armory online....barely over 300 with taxes and shipping. None of the local gun stores in my area have any yet.
