Stellantis having a very difficult time

yes, and i did a very short stint at a chevy/buick dealer, (as an assistant service manager) and we were getting those converted POS's nearly every week, with gigantic holes thru the hoods, some came in, missing hoods...broken windshields, messed up dashboards, firewalls.....

cost GM lots of money to put gas engines in them, or buy back the junk cars.

they just planed down the heads (pretty much) and did not take into consideration that the head bolt pattern would actually handle all that compression.

dumbass's at GM, should have never done that.
Yup. A “real” diesel will run a long time. Take a gas burner, raise the compression without any mods to how you bolt on the heads and leave the bottom end the same and Kaboom. What a surprise. I really think if GM had done it right we’d have seen a Lot of American diesel cars-instead….

More trading places and golden parachutes in the merry go round.... from the article RBC analyst"

“The issues as we have described at Stellantis have their roots in aggressive pricing in North America and high dealer inventories in our view. It is unclear therefore how these management changes will reverse trends. Further, we believe these decisions on top of Mr. Tavares’ retirement in 2026 add more uncertainty for Stellantis’ prospects."

Is is that hard for these execs to make better products at a reduced price?

Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth and whatever name they go by today have never been known for their quality. They were known for cheap vehicles built with cheap parts, they were also known for interesting features and a few better than average engines. That said, I have never lusted after any of their vehicles - old or new.

Hi,

I was going to work on curing ballots in Arizona but the lists are empty right now. The office says to check in later. Turning Point has over 1000 people making phone calls to get ballots corrected so that every vote counts.

Thank you for your indulgence,

And now for your further entertainment - Volkwagen, already reeling from poor sales and slumping prospects invests 5.8 B into a sure winner, Rivian (one auto ev maker that is losing 30-40,000 per unit of sold vehicles) to continue the march toward bankruptcy, err, success in selling more EV high priced autos that nobody wants. Wasn't there a phrase that you never thow good money after bad? Best of luck to them. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/rivian-volkswagen-group-launch-5-211929826.html

Oops. Sorry, this should've gone in the "What are you doing now?" thread. I fat-fingered my entry, obviously. Carry on.
