What are you doing right now??

It's hell to watch, i had to show my wife where the bathroom was a while ago. I seen her wandering around and ask are you ok? she said i forgot where the bathroom is. shes lived in this house 45 years.
MY dad doesn't know where he is in his own house about 60% of the time. Has to be shown where the bathroom is. Starts talking about the different rooms and the house in general as if it was the house he grew up in, which he hasn't lived in since the 40s.

On a bright note I did just successfully date his Fox Model B 20 gauge to 1973. It was his quail gun and of all his possessions it's the one I associate with him the most. Many, MANY days spent in the milo with him and that gun, me with my Model 311 12 gauge. I miss those days very much. He always wanted a Citori but couldn't afford one. He spent about 2 years looking for a Fox and finally found one and it's been his pride and joy ever since. I would have loved to be able to buy him an Ansley Fox in time for him to hunt with it.

Treasure those memories

Just picked up my old man's guns that I had hidden at his house from him. His dementia is bad. He's been diagnosed with Alzheimers. He thought I took them a few months back but I couldn't stand the thought of taking them so I hid them. My mother recently insisted I take them. Half the time he's convinced she gave them to some random kids down the street.:(

Anyway. Another 94 in 30-30. This one from 1971. Another BAR in 30-06 and a 12 gauge BPS. Also another Hawken .50 Cal. Also his little .380 EZ I bought him. I'll give that to my niece. In the end I hope she has a son so I can give all my dad's stuff to him. Bunches of ammo and other paraphenalia too.
I’m sorry to hear about your dad. It’s hard, I know. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Coffee, fried homemade bacon in a wrap, dogs and cats fed, horses will be calling me as soon as I step on the porch. I have the blank for an end grain cutting board glued up, will cut it up across grain and glue it back together today. The Thunderbirds and Blue Angels are flying a double delta formation fly by today, lots of excitement locally for the show this weekend.

it is lunch with the posse today but the other posse members have other obligations so I may be a posse of one. I must cast a long shadow.

Y'all have a fine day.

Well, slept like crap. Day 3 of my vacation and my plans are as follows. Go to the range and tweak the scopes on the .22s, do some long range ( for me) shooting with the 223w, Pattern the Model 38B bolt action .410, Shoot some of the old paper shells I got for my grandpa's old JC Higgins 583.2 bolt action 16 ga., then go out to the shop and clean everything while I wait for my plate from GG&G to come, then take the rail off the 1301 and install the plate and a 507C I bought from Simon ( a veritable gold mine of guns and parts he buys and then banishes to the island of misfit toys :) ), then take the 510C off the Beretta and swap it out with the Romeo 5 that's currently on the Voodoo 5.56 ( Hopefully the Holosun reticle won't distort in front of the magnifier like the Romeo does) and stick the Romeo in a drawer with the other ones. At one time I had 6 Romeo 5s on various shotguns and rifle/carbines. After this the only one left is the one on the KSG25. They've all been replaced with 510s and 512s. Then I'll be ready to go back to the range tomorrow morning with the Voodoo and the 1301 and zero the optics. Then I have another range trip with the crayon eaters on Sunday. That will make 4 range days in the last week and I have managed to "Almost" avoid any meaningful work on my vacation ( I'm 3 holes in, digging 6 piers for the next level of my deck). And some tree guys were supposed to be here this week to take down 3 giant trees ( 10k down the crapper) that menace my wife at night as they're all over above the house. It looks like they won't be here until next week. 3 sections of fencing need to be taken down to accommodate them so I'm waiting until the last minute to do that.

I've been hearing the wind howl all night too. I hope it dies down and doesn't ruin my plans.

just got back from shopping.....

IDIOTS, IDIOTS everywhere.....

first, some dumb dinkleberry decides to pull out in front of me, with a cargo van, ladders on top, so "some sort of rouge contractor", and travel at all of about 15 mph...

then some other dinkleberry (who's license plate was IQ-9, i kid you not, he had his IQ on his plate to show the world), decides to stay STOPPED at the redlights, where you can take a right on red, as long as you stop first.

then another red light, then another...but low and behold, the dinkleberry goes and takes a right on red, onto a state marked road...then decides (due to his IQ-9 license plate..??) to drive 22 mph on a 35 mph road.....

same dinkleberry, goes to walmart like me, i parked in a spot to see this dinkleberry, but said dinkleberry stays in the SUV...

then on the way home, yet another dinkleberry rides up a NO driving lane, in front of the fire station, stops at the red light, then goes thru the red light......no cops when you need'em.

glad i am home, and put away the frozen turkey breasts, cranberry sauce (jellied), and basting vegetable stock.

the ButterBall turkeys were at walmart, better to grab'em now....last year, wife sent me for them, but i was late, they didn't have anymore, and she was notably ticked off, i had to buy a whole turkey...lesson learned..."buy early"

still have other canned veggies, stuffing, and gravy to pick up, you know, the "odds'n ends" for the dinner table.

First night with a new pup went better than expected; kenneled up quietly, spent it well…well kennel her for the first few weeks until we know she’s good on her own at night.

She’s curled up on my feet while I drink coffee and catch the first couple episodes of S2 “Lioness”…

reading a story on the latest auto recalls, this time for jeep..

buy one, but don;t recharge it, until you know if it's under the recall or not.

and most certainly DO NOT park near anything....!!!!!!!

and "no fix" for the issue yet.......oh sure, buy it and park it, then what..walk to work..???

and there are those in the gooberment, that are still pushing for this nonsense.....
