What are you doing right now??

Well it's official. We could get up to 6 inches of snow here wed night into thursday. This will work because I have doctor appt. in Las Cruces which is 60 miles away tomorrow then I got to visit a friend in a rehab hospital. He had a stroke 2 weeks ago. Tomorrow will be a very busy day. Not a very warm day today low 40's and tomorrow will only be in 30's. We do not have snow plows here so roads will be messed up for a few days.

I will never complain about cold again. I will take -10 to -40 temps any day over that much snow at once where most of you are (which is probably the heavy, wet kind). We get drifts though... Seriously though, I hope you all come through okay. Some don't handle as well as others. Our winter has been pretty stable, so far. We had the one blow on December 18/19...then warm and FOG. It is weird here. We are used to lots of snow, bitter cold, and WIND. However, it's only January...

I grew up in the Midwest. The Blizzard of 79 drove us to move to Florida from Ohio. I have been on assignments in snow country at various times since then. Y'all can keep the snow, thank you.
I'll take the snow over Hurricanes, humidity, chiggers & multiple other biting insects, Burmese pythons, fire ants, alligators and illegals washing up on shore any day.

I'm hoping for a good old fashioned hard & snowy winter to encourage the folks that have invaded here to leave.

My .02

Hi,

It's pretty cold here too, just not much snow. Dang it! :D

Those of you in the Southern climes take extra care. I've seen freeways like ice hockey rinks lately. It's not pretty. ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,

Anticipating later this week its going to be fun with the weather in N Tx
Going to sit back and watch the
💩show.

Folks raiding groceries like we’ll be snowed in for a month.
Transplanted Northeners proclaiming “this is nothing”, but pissing and moaning while in shorts cause it was 70 degrees 24hrs ago and now their freezing at 9 degrees. Yeah, Texas gives no quarter for changes in gradual scale.
They also realised they sold their snow tires before they moved and are stuck with normal tires with snow coming.
And…. Watching new transplanted from India folks who cant drive for 💩 on a good day firgure out how to drive on snow in their flip flops

I cant wait….

Pondering the fact that recent statistics show that Four in five U.S. adults (79 percent) have English literacy skills sufficient to complete tasks that require comparing and contrasting information, paraphrasing, or making low-level inferences.
In contrast, one in five U.S. adults (21 percent) has difficulty completing these tasks. This translates into 43.0 million U.S. adults who possess low literacy skills. 26.5 million are at very low and 8.4 million below very low.

Wow !!!

I bet Washington DC is the majoeity of the 8.4 million😉

Also means 1 in 5 walk among us 😱😳🧐

Hot java, while nursing some muscles I'd forgotten I have. My fingers/forearms are wrecked for a few days (acute tendon disorder). I shoveled about two tons of snow yesterday! Coming up, for several days we'll be in the deep freeze wind tunnel. It can't end too quickly for me!
