What are you doing right now??

I’d much rather shoot in 7 degree weather than on an indoor range. Especially a public one.
i agree...my state, thru the "pitman" act? has a beautiful outdoor FREE range, as long as we apply for a permit (free as well), good for 5 years.

i only been there times, since i applied back in 2022

however, it is like 45-50 minutes from my house, and i am into the "covid shortages" frame of mind, and i only take 1, maybe 2 boxes of ammo.

i found the travel time, to be a bit much now at my age, as well as "emergency bathrooms available" to be an issue as well.....

and noooo...i don't mean..."squirt the dirt" type of stops........

Coffee and breakfast. Went to Las Cruces NM yesterday afternoon to drop off a car for body work and will be going this morning to drop off another one. Usually it's just a 2 hour trip and the money is good and it's all highway driving. Another clear and cold day.

Coffee now. Waiting until first light to let the pups out. Then off to my last physical therapy session. Have an appointment with my orthopedic surgeon next week. I'm sure he will tell me my knee is doing well. Then we will discuss the time frame about doing the next total knee replacement on my other knee. Work will be in for a surprise when I report back next week after my doctor's appointment. I'll be submitting my disability retirement paperwork. We'll see what kind of poop show that turns into!

Making a large coupling. This part, when finished, will weigh about 10k pounds.

here is a laugh
we took delivery of the new range conveyance monday
yesterday i was driving back from doctors and BOOM check engine light, with slight decrease in oooomph.
got home, pulled codes..it was ugly with egr faults
so i opened hood and started doing a forensic eye ball at the space X engine under the hood
i found a few tubes chewed up, some wiring with teeth damage
so i called my dealer and told them they have a rodent issue at the lot and i was inbound and needed a loaner
they were, please if not safe we will send a tow truck
but i was able to drive,

funny thing was monday it felt low on power and i chalked that up to 9 miles on engine and ecm was limiting power until proper break-in time
it also burned through 12% of DEF fluid in less than 100 miles which is WAAAAAY over the normal usage.

dealer is fixing it now and hopefully climbing over it to look at every wire and tube
of course when they say its fixed
i plan to look at it on a lift, very closely and with pictures

then the funny thing, is monday i took a bunch of pics to document conditions when i got home and never had a chance to look at the pics...until last night and sure enough the damage was there upon delivery
freaking rodents 1 f250 0 right now
1st pic is from monday, the rest are from Tuesday
zoom on pic one...the elbow is eaten
they did give me an expedition to drive as a loaner....which is great...it holds a lot of range gear
