What are you doing right now??

i got up my usual 4:30 AM, after my usual night of constantly turning, waking, sleeping, turning waking, over and over again.

i "had planned" on going to the club about 6 AM, been a month now since i been there, and its only 1.75 miles from my house.

but i feel "listless", and have no real gumption to do anything, cuz i still have to clean my Hellcat, since its my EDC, even though i have my G-30 as my backup....and run the brass polisher for those 9mm's.....

i still have to fully clean the wifes car as well, even though "some snow, then rain" coming thru thursday. i may put that off till the weekend.

it sucks to feel this way, i'm gonna lose precious hours of "need to do" for me and the house.

maybe what i did yesterday has gotten to me today, i dunno.....

it just sucks, that i really don't wanna do anything
The good thing about retirement is that there is always tomorrow. Chores will always be there waiting for you if you skip a day or two.

Have you considered that naps (prolonged ones or multiples) may disrupt night time sleep? I like naps and usually sleep well except for the bathroom trips, but sleep really well the next night after a poor one.
they most likely are for sure...but after i wake up, have my coffee/breakfast, if i have no errands to run, i start to doze off.

if i have things to do, then about 12-pm, i doze off.

after supper (for us about 4:30 pm), i get tired.

when watching tv, i doze off.

i am not fully certain on the exact causes, as my wife and several doctors told me, i am not displaying sleep apnea, but the overall consensus is that that my 40+ years of 24 hour schedule trucking jobs mucked me up so much, my circadian rhythm will not cooperate after all these years since retirement.

doctors have put me on mild sleep aids...no good

melatonin........no good

Vicks ZZZZZ......no good.

i am on many prescribed meds, so doctor(s) felt "experimenting" with anymore potent sleep aids can be detrimental

If I stay active I don't feel the need for a nap. Too many carbs and then sitting in my recliner and all bets are off.
i try too but there is only so much i am allowed to do.

either the wife or ALL of my kids get into my shite if i do too much, given my back and knee issues, and of course my age.

come soon, i will have to get up on a 6 foot step ladder to scrape some of the old paint from many ceilings, then touch up that.

then, go around and touch up paint in all the rooms and that's only about 19 of them

then the front and rear hallways, from the 1st floor to the 3rd floor, scrape paint and touch up

then each stinking year, scrape and touch up all the fencing, which is roughly nearly 100 feet worth.

then get the garden ready.......

so oh yea, i keep busy, when i sneak away to do it, like when the wife is grocery shopping or babysitting the little ones at thier house.

me being a diabetic, carb watching is paramount

Been an AR15 kind of day. first up was the Radical at 40 yards with iron sights. shooting off a front rest. all had to be sighted in.Finally got it hitting center and ran out of ammo for that gun.
