What are you doing right now??

Sipping coffee, cleaned out email, now scrolling the forum. TGIF. It's -6 and clear this morning, and it is supposed to warm up to nearly freezing this weekend. Today is my mandatory overtime day but at least it's only an 8 hour shift. I'm tired...is it wrong to be looking forward to crawling back into bed before I even leave the house for the day? I think not.

Got the call from my doctor and it was a mixed bag. My diabetes is well controlled and my A1C was 6.8 which is good. My urine had protein in it so he has given me another pill and wants me to see a kidney doctor. I hate going to see doctors. I feel they are experimenting with me. Will call kidney doctor to make appointment tomorrow. My doctor said he has sent them the referral. We will see. I feel good but I do need to get this checked out. There might be a simple answer to it, we will see. Husky say I am fine, I just need to eat more bacon beggin strips!

I should add I have been a diabetic for over 20 years. They diagnosed me not to long after I retired from the military. It just gets old having to watch what I eat, checking blood, and using insulin every single day. Somedays I just want to scream! Rant over
I understand what all this is and getting it out helps. My youngest now 50, had kidney issues from medication as a young teen, one kidney shrunk and 1 enlarged. Last year scan showed the smaller one is not there and other one misbehaving, multiple issues and 16 times normal protein output. Lisprinolol has helped. 23 meds daily. He is home from heart implant replacement surgery. I test for INR-blood clots similar to diabetic testing and can only eat a blended protein bar 2 x daily and 1 Atkins drink for other issues. Getting old ISN'T FOR WIMPS. I support you and you can shake your fist anytime and I'll listen. Snuggle the fur kid, one here just over pneumonia and another double ear infection. Blessings.

many reasons for a higher creatinine level...dehydration, being one

mine varies, right now as of my tests last week, it is down to 1.21....in the normal range

my A1C varies, i posted back the, from 6.7(?) up to 7.3(?)

i am on like 4 different pills for my Type II diabetes.

and yes, i DO cheat every once in a while, after all, we cannot BS a doctor that we do not.

just got my second call from my doctors office..

the gal there, has a lousy cell phone, yesterday, it broke up so much, i just wiped my answering machine clean.

i could not call the number on my caller ID, cuz THAT does not take calls..!!!!

anyway, she made another feeble attempt to call me today, but at least now, i got her number.

i called, and she's busy.....oh...excuuuse me..........

anyway, i called the doctors office, since now i know who to call.

she called me back to inform me of my lead level in my blood.....

it is 9.6...down from June's 9.9

i told her..."i'm normal..and why didn't this get posted to the patient portal, that the DOCTOR told me to use"..???

"since all my OTHER tests were posted there"?

i dunno..........i need to start dinking, drinkig, getting drunk.........

I understand how rotten it is not to be in control of ourselves. /Do you stick with one Dr. or can you get other opinions? It is SO hard to find a doc that listens and does not just give you what the latest sales rep said was wonderful. I ALWAYS study med info & side effects before just taking something. Lots of ads on tv say they may cause death, multiple issues worse than it treats. A lot of my issues were caused by a bad doc. 2 complaints to the medical board but CYA works well for them. Research and go with your gut. Blessings.

I hope all works well for you. No matter how personable a doc is Always get 2nd opinions.I have been a police medic,SWAT team medic, worked in recovery, run the surgery desk, on pager with Flying Squad, organ procurment, passed meds at care & rehab centers and did staff education. Tested Docs for renewing hospital privilidge, I know enough to know how careful and diligent a person has to be. How easy docs throw a med at someone to move to next patient. I'm glad you are taking care of yourself, you sound very diligent but ALWAYS check things out. Also keep asking and looking for trials of meds and treatments.
