Have you heard back? Water wells are my specialty....
And we heathens thank you for your hard work!Working. All you heathens need your booze. This is not a day of rest for us. All hands on deck delivering and stocking
My money is on a hole in your drop pipe, or a crack, or a failed joint in the string. That would explain never shutting off, only building to a limited pressure, as well an air bubble when you turn it back on manually. Could also be the tank, but more likely a hole in your pipe. Good luck.Drilled well, submersible 1 hp pump @ 160 ft with a two year old bladder tank with a 40/60 switch feeding two dwellings. The pump runs constantly, so I am turning it off and on as needed at the breaker box. Builds 40 psi but no more, and I haven't heard the switch click on/off in about two months. My first indications that there was a problem was decreased pressure and a huge electric bill. The water is plentiful, clear and free of debris, but there is always some air on restart.
I powered off and drained down the bladder tank and discovered the air pressure was low, I aired it up but nothing changed. The well company thinks it a down pipe or bladder tank problem... they are scheduled to arrive sometime Thursday.
Bless your heart!Working. All you heathens need your booze. This is not a day of rest for us. All hands on deck delivering and stocking

Be prepared for the pump guys to suggest a new pump. When they run for weeks-on-end, they can overheat (without proper flow of water over the motor), and drastically shorten the life of the motor. A modern submersible is not likely to last more than 20 years under optimal usage (what's happened with yours is not optimal). Most modern tanks will last 10-15 years...
Any brand that professional offers for sale is generally good. Goulds/Xylem, Franklin Electric, Sta-Rite, Berkeley, Myers, AY McDonald, Grundfos, Flint and Walling....all good main-stream options in the industry.Thank you!
Is there a particular brand of 1 hp submersible well pumps that is better than others?
Dang nice, happy early christmas present to youJust got back from a Costco run and other stops. Traffic was terrible and on the way home multiple accidents on the freeway and a brush fire.
But at my last stop, I saw a used Kimber 1911 lightweight in 9mm. Price said $670. Asked how many mags....1. Asked what his best price right now was. $450. I said sold. It looks brand new, no marks or wear (without breaking it down). I'll post pictures later.
Read what you mentioned about giving them time to heat house before you start turning off gas. Very nice seeing such considerate customer service along with a strong work ethic. Well done...Pigtail
Me and the boy ( that is, the 30 year old combat vet on the truck with me who serves as my laborer) have it down to a science. You can almost never tell we were there when we're done other than the brand new pipes and equipment on the side of your house. My backfilling and sod saving is above reproach. And we do it fast enough we never have more than a 2 degree drop in temperature inside the house. Above everything else we pride ourselves on doing the job right, making it look very good and limiting customer inconvenience.Read what you mentioned about giving them time to heat house before you start turning off gas. With a job like this it's the only sense of accomplishment I get. I really do miss being a carpenter/contractor.
