good used cargo containers are all the rage in some parts of the country. here, some are turned into office spaces being either stacked up, or side by side.

but the cost of the container, trucking to the location, and remodeling to code can be expensive as well.

here where i live, we have the old Naval Air and shipyard base........Quonset Point, where they were designed and built

very simple structure indeed, and efficient.

might actually be cheaper than a cargo container, as it'll most likely be shipped in kit form

Where were Quonset huts invented?

Quonset Hut | Washington State Department of Archaeology ...

Rhode Island

Simple to manufacture and easy to assemble, the Quonset Hut is an easily recognizable architectural form. The building was designed in 1941 by a team of engineers at Quonset Point Naval Air Station in Rhode Island, hence the name.

I am working on what will be my next place to live. I like the options on a quanset hut and which can disappear into the landscape in almost any surroundings. Inside has the ability to house anything and walls do not have to go to ceiling. There are 2 other options I am working on which is railroad cars and cargo containers. I may not get there but my son and daughter are intrigued with my ideas.

I loaded the last brass colored .45 FMJ. I filled a .30 cal. ammo can and that sucker is heavy. I have another 1K or so copper FMJ, but will change to another caliber. Gonna test some .45 revolver rounds Sunday, so if all is well, may switch to that. It rained hard while in the garage and then it got louder. Small hail. Low 50's today, supposed to be 90 next week.

both phones lit up about 305...tornado warning ,,,,
weather bug showed it 30 to 40 minutes away...
grabbed keys and wallet and jumped into the storm shelter at around 3:15 pm
carried both dogs down the ladder....omg
430 re emerged to just flooded yard and no damage
i guess my the past weather track it took the lake route vice the land
thank goodness
i realized while in the shelter....it warms up fast with 2 panting dogs and 2 humans
somehow we got internet from the house to pick up if we stood near the power outlet i put in...
cool beans

Several nader warnings in the state now, system hasn't got to us yet but it's coming. about all the storm chasers are in the state. supposed to get 10 to 15 inches more of rain tonight and tomorrow which is another nader alert day., then sunday we might get some snow up north. it has been really muggy today. you just knew all hell was going to break loose. curious to know how much rain we have gotten the last two days. i know it's several.

Man, I really feel for you guys dealing with so much rain. I really do. Here it's snowing sideways again. Visibility was bad when I left work, so I headed home instead of to the range. I chose wisely it seems, because the interstate was getting iffy already. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you guys who are dealing with this whacked out weather, hoping you all come out of it okay.

actually the wife and me have been washing dishes, plates, bowls, glasses, in those cupboards since about 3 PM....way too many to wash and dry all at once.

my God the wife says....."i didn't realize we had so much up there."

after they are all cleaned and dried, i have to touch up some paint in there as well.

then i can vacuum and wash all the shelving.

Dear God, is it winter yet...??
