As I mentioned earlier, I am seeing reports of another ammo shortage…soon to hit. Most places I’ve checked seemed “flush” with plenty of ammo but prices very high. This could have something to do with the dollar being devalued almost daily. But there might be another reason.
Components might be, again, in short supply. Once the inventory starts dropping then the supply dries up. It is only a matter of time.
Last year, I’d thought of getting into reloading my own ammo. I checked out presses, dies, materials and looking forward to getting set up. But I stopped…dead in tracks! There are four main components needed for reloading your own ammo…cases, projectiles, powder and primers. If any one, or more of those components is not available or in short supply, then you’re out-of-business. Getting cases and projectiles is usually not a problem. But primers and powder is another matter. Lately, finding/buying primers has been an issue. Powder is a “hit or miss” situation but generally is available. When it is found, the price is high…like ammo itself. But primers are another matter. I found that if a source has primers…then it is only a matter of hours when they’re sold out. Also, the prices for primers is in the stratosphere…when and if you can find them! Today, you’re limited as to the amount of primers you can buy at one time.
I’m sure the politicians and those gun grabber types are watching this situation as well. They don’t have to try and outlaw guns…which won’t happen!! All they have to do is reduce the availability of one or two key ammo components…and we’re done!!
