I just read an article about the Gabby Giffords affiliated anti-gun organization (they keep changing names on me) recently asking Hollywood to include more gun control messaging in movies and TV. This got me thinking about the famous movie and TV guns I grew up wanting. Other than a mil-spec 1911 like the ones that appeared in every war movie, and I believe was carried by Magnum P.I., I don't think I ever got around to adding many to my collection. Like every kid, I liked James Bond's Walthers, but the Bersa Thunder was the closest I ever came to buying one. Miami Vice was the first cop show I was old enough to actually understand, but Don Johnson's Bren 10 has never been in my price range. What was your favorite movie/TV gun growing up, and did you ever wind up actually buying one?
