In a World of Compacts, Is it Bad my EDC is a Full Size?

So I feel myself a bit out of place sometimes because my EDC is a Springfield 1911 Mil-Spec Defender, 5" Barrel. A lot of people said about getting the compact pistol, but I have no problem carrying this. I use a Cross leather suspender strap, and with it anchored to my belt, I don't feel the weight at all, and I'm not rubbing against it either. It feels comfortable, and I also have no problem reaching it fast (Been practicing a lot). So I ask everyone here, Should I get a Compact Pistol?
Carry what works for YOU. I love to shoot and carry full size pistols, I just have a hard time concealing one, so usually have something a lot smaller on me. I do on occasion carry a full size SIG STX 1911 owb in a Mernicle holster.

If it works for you who cares what others think.

Wholeheartedly agree with the others here, carry what you feel comfortable with and don’t worry about others….oh and please have one up the pipe, don’t carry with an empty chamber, just make sure you train with one like this, don’t take for granted that you can chamber a round when a incident occurs

Israel says otherwise.
Not advocating it, just pointing it out

nobody gonna mess with me, or insult my choice of an EDC

so you do you, and screw all the rest....

EDC what you are proficient & confident with
In a self defense situation- you will have to answer for your actions - so be smart - proficient- confident with you choice
Also have fun with your choice
After two years of searching for the ideal EDC handgun - I forgot this very important reason
Good luck and enjoy the journey

There are many variable factors in lethal conflict. It is best to avoid if possible. Once hostilities begin, however, there are three constants where firearms are used. Speed, Power, and Accuracy will determine the outcome. You have to bring enough gun (power-it's why I am bringing a shotgun if I have a choice, big bore handgun if a shotgun isn't available), you have to be quick enough to get your gun into the fight, and you have to hit with it. Bill Jordan wrote a book years ago, "No Second Place Winner". The title of the book tells the story. There are outliers, but The Rule of 3's is usually in play. That is, most gunfights last 3 seconds or less, they occur at 3 yards or less, and 3 rounds or less are fired. Those factors are worth considering when deciding what you train with and carry.
