testtest

Prodigy issues

So, thats really wild speculation and unfair. I was sent a gun to test and nothing was done to it. Are you going to say that Springfield made sure mine ran as well. For you to insinuate that Springfield would fraud users is way off base. What good does it do for Springfield to purposely sell again that does not work. Springfield is only successful if they create life long customers. Customers that buy multiple products, and also tell their friends. Obviously something is wrong with your pistol and it could be as easy a fix or something bad. But one thing is for sure Springfield has already started to take care of it.

If you google any brand firearm/cars/tvs or any mass produced product you will find examples of that for what ever reason do not want to work. This includes guns that have been out for years and hundred of thousands of samples are out there.
yes, true, but how many tried and proven products get factory service over brand new releases.???

some for sure, but not in the high numbers as from what i had seen with the SA 35, and i highly suspect this new Prodigy.

again, my thoughts are at the very least 1 full year of testing, "beta testing" if you will before it goes "gold" to the public.''i think it's a "mad rush" to beat the competition for over all yearly sales numbers.

I know that if I spent $1500 on a gun I would expect it to work and probably be hot under the collar if it didn't. I have now changed my habits to wait a few months to see how newer firearms are doing before I make a decision to purchase one. I really hate to be the beta tester.

They had to hurry to be first. The patent on the 2011 ran out and they wanted to have first shot at it. Kind of like what shadow systems did with the gen3 glock paten when it ran out.

which is why i waited for my SA-35, let the serial numbers climb, and the bugs worked out. just like a new model car/truck...the very first year of a new model, gonna be problems

Thing is it’s not some new game changing design. Base design is 100 years old and sti perfected the 2011 platform. SA copied it after the patent ran out. Sent out the gun and raked in the money. They just didn’t care about quality and functionality.

I own several Springfield products and love them. I was overcharged on my SA-35 Ok that's on me no big deal really wanted the weapon. Back and forth to them 3 times with same issues and they stated THEIR techs didn't have the ISSUES. THEY promised me a brand new one. Ok I am good with that. Now almost a month and a half later I decided to call in for a status. Their reply "We are waiting on parts". My LGS just had both models of the Prodigy in. I had dibs on either or both but declined because of my last experience buying a brand new production SA-35. I know manmade and there can be issues take for example my Wilson CQB 3,000 dollar gun had an issue. 8 days from mailing it back to me getting it back with a very detailed work order and some extras thrown in for me not being able to enjoy my weapon. Springfield has my SA-35 in their possession longer than I've had it. If and when the new one arrives I am going to have a friend film me opening and shooting it. I admit Sa customer service was great to deal with but 3 times same gun same issues ? Quality control needs to be locked down tighter and I also think that before they release a new model they should have adequate parts on hand to be ready for any potential issues. Just my two cents

but isn't it a new design/build for SA?

if so, then it's a new design/build, gonna be issues.

2011 patent expired like 8 years ago, and multiple companies make 2011 pistols.
Uh wrong! Please quit trying to snipe me. Xdman I know exactly who you are. I saw your old posts on here. I’m asking you not to reply to me unless I break a rule. I know what your doing and others have DM me about your ways of being a “mod” on here. Good day sir

Every gun company has a service department. Every other day we are shipping guns back to manufacturers for customers. With manufactured products you get dumpsterfires. When I managed an indoor range ohhh boy you would not believe the stuff I have seen. everything from sights installed backwards to loose castle or barrel nuts. even customers shooting a whole mag of 380 out of a 9mm. The real magic is if the company will take care of it.

that concerns me that they are "waiting for parts".

waiting for parts to fully rebuild yours?

or waiting for parts to start the production line again, so that they can send you a NEW 35??

i hope you have the serial number of yours.....and compare that to the alleged, "new one" that they are waiting on parts for.

seems to me, they should have had a "few" 35's in the back room.

Wow 3 times. That’s terrible. I have several SA items but this is the first with major issues.SA customer service has been great. Mine should be back 2-4 weeks which isn’t bad considering. However them waiting on parts to fix their gun for a third time sounds suspect. Like they found a part that needed to be remade and shipped back to them. Does that mean every SA-35 has the same messed up part that they can’t fix?

Actually the 2011 is far from perfected, google STI Grandmaster problems.

EXACTLY!!

Patent issued 1994 with a term of 14 years. So they expired in 2008, so my correction 12 years.

Man just stop.Your talking but not saying anything.I get your a mod and very sensitive but your just trying to get things crazy like in your other feeble attempts towards customers expressing their displeasure with your precious SA. Face it this prodigy platform is flawed. Hopefully it gets fixed

Exactly. My own view on weapons for a long time has been to I don't know pick a random 50 or 100 people from all over the country and all walks of life send them a gun and let them use and abuse it provide feedback to said company and then if there are any changes or improvements or issues the aforementioned can be brought to the table and decisions made. Of course well vetted people who I don't know keep it quiet sign nondisclosure agreements. My opinion is for whatever reason the Sa-35 was rushed to market and then sit back and hope all goes well which is hasn't.

And now SA will be bogged down with the prodigy issues and it’ll take longer for you to get your gun back. There’s some very upset people over a $1500 paper weight.
in the short term, it is very disappointing.

we all expect anything we buy to perform to its fullest, be it a washing machine, tv set, smart phone, or running shoes from wally world, or a gun, of any price.

in the long term, it'll get fixed to the owners satisfaction, and good times will continue.

if not, then get it fixed 1 more time, and dump it, knowing that at least you had it fixed for the new owner.

caveat here though, that if you sell it off..??

the new owner may have it for 10 years or more, and never any more issues.....
