Prodigy issues

that concerns me that they are "waiting for parts".

waiting for parts to fully rebuild yours?

or waiting for parts to start the production line again, so that they can send you a NEW 35??

i hope you have the serial number of yours.....and compare that to the alleged, "new one" that they are waiting on parts for.

seems to me, they should have had a "few" 35's in the back room.
Just a heads up.

No firearms manufacturer can lawfully restamp a serial number after it has been recorded as this is a big time legal no-no.

If a firearm is being shipped as a replacement from a manufacturer it would need to go to an FFL first and the owner would need to go through a standard form 4473 background check to take possession.

I first found out about these laws when I had Ruger ship me a replacement Mini-14 to replace defective rifle.

yes, i know this...what i was referring to is that he had better have his serial number and see if they just repaired his gun, rather than send him a new one as promised. which is why i questioned when they said they are "waiting for parts"

They can't send him a new firearm directly so that would be the major tell if they replaced it along with SA reaching out to him to notify him of a replacement option and to get his preferred FFLs information for a federally mandated legal transfer.

Firearms sent in for repairs can be shipped directly back to the original owners home address as long as there are no state laws prohibiting that from happening.

I'm not trying to argue, I just don't understand what you're exactly saying.

Ok, you are right but also wrong on this, I had to have my S&W 686 sent back to the factory right after they came out, S&W couldn’t fix all the issues it had, so they sent me a new gun with the same serial number, after they destroyed the bad one, my dealer sent the gun back and received the replacement, didn’t have to do no paperwork or background check since it has same serial number, plus S&W sent my dealer legal proof the the bad one was destroyed, not sure how it’s done now.

I got my replacement Mini-14 about 3 years ago and Ruger said they couldn't restamp a new serial number on my replacement because of federal law but they did say they would destroy my rifle. My new rifle had a new serial number.

Mine replacement gun had same number as the original one…….this happened back in the early 80’s

I've experienced the same when I had to return a defective rifle receiver (albeit not Ruger).

When did the issue start ? The gun looks under lubed. Did u lube it thru out the 600 rounds u fired? We shooters think guns should run 1000s rds without issue. Gun hygiene is important. Not assuming you havent just curious.
Im a glock fan and when i see a glock that has issues, well either under lubed or the owner has changed internals to make it run better which isnt always a good thing

Try a 12lb recoil spring, the factory one is 9lb and is to light, my Springfield RO Operator 9mm had same issue, changed the spring and issue was gone, this should help it to go back into battery correctly and should help the FTF problem, it did for me
Called SA there’s already a 12lb in the 4inch 9lb in the 5. I guess that’s why a spring change to a 12 didn’t work LOL

I knew I’d get 1 chit starter. I only stated what was told to me. I never said they paid ppl to lie I said they made sure their sponsor pistols run flawlessly unlike the rest of the masses. Also do you have one? No didn’t think so. Plus I never said tbey are a bad company. I wouldn’t have numerous SA firearms if they were trash. The gun being SA was why I got it on release day.
Well, I tried to read this whole thread, but the only chit starter here is you. We get it. Your gun isn’t working and your PO’d. Fair enough. And your points about people on forums with bad guns and internet celebs whose guns ran fine isn’t wrong, but why are you kicking off with well-established, knowledgeable regulars when you’re a noob here?

My Prodigy is serial number 9XXX and I bought it on Sunday so we can be fairly confident that there are at the very least 10,000 Prodigies out in the world. Even if I count the complaints from aggrieved owners, like yourself, that I have read first hand they don’t add up to 20. @xdman said his ran fine, but you’re not having it. I had four failures to fire in my first 100 rounds and 0 in the next 150. I also changed my recoil spring to a 12lb spring 150 rounds in. For me, and maybe I’m special, this gun was worth every penny and I’m excited to run it.

BTW, @xdman and I will be sharing a beer together soon and I’m sure will be shooting our Prodigies beforehand. We’ll toast you and a successful resolution with your Prodigy.

I've only put 50 rounds through my Prodigy so far and it ran flawless for so far. I can't wait to get it back to the range this weekend for some more blasting.
