Beginning Cormac McCarthy's "The Road." When finished, I believe I'll have read the entirety of his canon. Also, newly released "Haunted War Tales: True Military Encounters" by R.C. Bramhall. Lastly, "Paul Newman: The Extraordinary Life Of An Ordinary Man" by Joanne Woodward Newman and Stewart Stern.

Anyone read "Guns, Crime and Freedom" by Wayne LaPierre, published 1994? Neighbor who watches over me just gave it to me to read. Given what I've "heard" about WLP...I'm skeptical of wasting my time...

Read them all...great page-turners and ass-kicking.

I made it through one Reacher book. The author knows nothing about his subject matter.

I will say I enjoyed the 2012 film with Cruise. That's the extent for me. That said, all who know me also know I'll choose the read over the film every time.

I will say I enjoyed the 2012 film with Cruise. That's the extent for me. That said, all who know me also know I'll choose the read over the film every time.

The series is much more accurate and better.

He's also got a main character who graduated West Point and made all of his promotions ahead of the zone became a Field Grade officer and then got RIF'd ?

It's fiction. Written by a Brit. And highly entertaining. I have enjoyed all the books and really enjoy the series where Alan Ritchson brings the character to life.

I certainly do not want to convince you of anything...his departure from the military was covered in detail in many of the books' stories and plot lines. In fact, I think one of the older books covered this topic as a main story. One's bad attitude and failure to follow orders can supersede one's accomplishments (Reacher's, not you!).
