Whatcha Watching?

STAR TREK: DISCOVERY
1st season is pretty good, but takes a little bit to hit its stride…second season is excellent.

3 & 4th…eh. I’m invested, and will be watching the final season later this year…but I don’t think k I’m going to miss it.

Strange New Worlds is better, I think…and Lower Decks is also really good…it references (and pokes fun of) ALL of Trek.

Just started watching Faraway Downs on Hulu. It's basically a Western with a lot of influences that are fun to spot. I'm only in the middle of Episode 2, but I'm enjoying it. Yah, it's a little bit "woke-ish," but so far they're not beating you over the head with it--kinda like A Man Called Otto, it's still "a good story well told." I'd say that anyone who liked Firefly/Serenity and Dark Winds would enjoy it. ;)

I am a fan of Anson Mount. He was good in Hell On Wheels, I think he is better as Captain Pike. I was amused to see The Swede (Christopher Heyerdahl) show up in an episode of DISCOVERY

I've been watching the various Star Trek series. Since I watched the original series as they came out I decided to start with Star Trek: TNG, then on to Star Trek: Voyager and now I've been watching Star Trek: Enterprise. Tried watching Star Trek: Discovery, but couldn't get interested in it enough to continue watching.

We get close to 200 channels through our streaming service, The last couple of nights I've been watching old westerns on you tube. I guess one could say Im way beyond "OLD SCHOOL" don't care much for most of the new stuff. My wife & I have very different tastes as she likes a lot of the sitcoms, newer movies, etc. Yes, we get along, she's been stuck with me for 54 years.

For later tonight watching the Outer Limits' episode Demon With a Glass Hand written by Harlan Ellison. This is one of the top rated episodes. Much of the nuances and philosophy I missed as a kid watching it. It's much more enjoyable and thought provoking now.

Maltese Falcon, one of my all-time favorites starring an all-time favorite.
