Prepping in the kitchen.

if this was asked earlier, i did not see it...

does anyone use either as a table item or cooking ingredient....."Himalayan Pink salt"..???

i am reading where there are "some health benefits" in this salt, over regular processed white/table salt...

yes, same amount of sodium, as white salt, but supposedly helps balance our ph balance and promote stable blood sugar levels......

it just does not have iodine like white salt...

i just bought a 1 lbs bottle at wally's world, and even there, it was over $6.00

by the way, it has a "pretty good" flavor to it....

i pretty much only use salt on my eggs, or on my burgers, if i am frying them up, along with black pepper.

thanks in advance.
I use kosher salt for cooking, and either sea salt or Himalayan salt to season, depending on the mood I’m in. I really like the flavor of the Himalayan salt.

We spent the whole day in Fargo stocking up so we don’t have to go shopping for anything for a while. Picked up a couple of New York strip steaks for dinner. I’m going to do them in my favorite cast iron pan. Getting the cheesy au gratin potatoes ready for the oven now.

Pot roast seasoned with garlic powder, season salt, a hint of black pepper, Lipton meaty onion soup mix, diced baby carrots, sliced celery, diced yellow onions, and a diced skin on russet potato. Four hours on high in the crock pot.
Roast was taken out at three hours to finish cooking less the heat, and veggies left to finish cooking in the pot.

I believe I have found the exact recipe that K&W Cafeteria used to cook their roast beef.

So good it's a shame to lose it to the process of digestion........

Sounds yummy !

That's way better than any bachelor dinner I would ever have would be. Probably be pizza rolls. Or Guinness.
My batching it dinners tend to be either the local watering hole (they have good burgers, and decent bbq), or go whole hog and make meatloaf, or chili, or something else my wife isn’t a big fan of…

Or takeout Chinese. Gimme them Singapore Noodles & Sesame Chicken any time…

Thats all fancy food, wish I could cook like that! Me, I would make a sandwich, chips and maybe a salad. I'm afraid I would burn the house down.
Now you're talking. Love a good sandwich.

Short story. My wife made my lunch for work once. Once. When I went to eat my sandwich at lunch time I saw that she had slapped some meat on it, then some cheese, then slathered mayo on the ( now soggy) bread. So when I got home I told her how to make a sandwich the correct way. She never made my lunch again. I told her I was fine with that since I can make a sandwich 1000 times better than her anyway. Which is true. I make a damn fine sandwich.
